Finally !!!!!

We finally got to go to MY  park yesterday. It was a comfortable 55 degrees - perfect for us although Mom was rugged up in layers and layers. Dad came too so it was whole family outing. Mom was sad that is is all so brown and depressing looking - she kind of missed the best of fall colors with all her sickies and now it is just the bleak old winter look already.

We sniffed and sniffed and left LOTS of pee mail and worked up a nice appetite which was perfect because when we got home Mom had a bison bone thawed for us - mmmmm look at that marrow - yummmmm. Yeah - we were happy puppers.

My turn - My turn !

Remember Mom had a mini-me of Reilly done. Well Diane has now finished ME - the Denny and I am even cuter then the Reilly Big-Dog. Doesn't she have the most amazing talent. Here is the link the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MyCrochetPage but as we mentioned she does have a huge waiting list so if you want to order one expect to be waiting a few months.

Christmas Shopping

Can you believe Mom took us Christmas shopping yesterday and didn't buy us a single thing WTD !!!!  She said we were only there to  buy some goodies for our Christmas Gift Exchange Buddies.  Dweeb pointed out to Mom that there were some cookies on sale but she ignored even his pitiful look. Seriously - how could our Mom take us to the pet store and not buy ME a single thing?  We didn't find what she wanted there so headed off our other favorite pet store and all my indignant huffing at her finally paid off. Not only did she find what she wanted for the Christmas box  but we scored a whole bag and fresh bison bones with all that yummy marrow goodness in the middle. Sigh - we forgave her very quickly :)

Forever in our hearts

The last 3 paintings Mom has done (yes she is still doing them) have all been of furbabies who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Maggie was a sweet little sheltie girl and her Mom and Dad miss her so terribly much.

Of coarse you ALL know our little Mr Pip who we just all ADORED and miss every day. Pip's Mom hung the painting just inside her front door so Mr Pip is always there to greet her when she comes home....just like he always did.

And finally Harry - a golden retriever who had a very long and happy life and crossed the rainbow bridge recently too. Be at peace sweet babies...... and run free

We feel sooooooo special !!!!!!!!!!!!

Look what arrived in the mail for us today from Chewy.com.  We have had our portraits painted by Chewy.com's resident artist!!!!!  There wasn't a note in with them so we are thinking they are a Christmas gift for being a reviewer for them this year.  We totally love them - so thank you Chewy.com and Miss Lisa who painted them.

Mini Me Perfection

Some months ago we came across this wonderful lady on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/MyCrochetPage  who crochets Mini-Me's and we saw a sheltie she did and just fell in love and had to have two. Mom ordered one of ME and of the Dweeb. Well the Mini Me Reilly was  finished yesterday and take a look at ....isn't it fantastic! She got my spots perfectly and my marking and look at my fluffy coat - how does she do that! She does all breeds of dogs but we must warn you she has a HUGE waiting list. I think we ordered ours like 5 months ago. They cost $35.99 which for the hours and hours of work is a terrific price. They stand about 3" high. Do check out her facebook page and look at all the different breeds of dogs she has done - you will be amazed.

Catching up

We haven't really been doing to much lately - it has been super cold, only 24 F degrees this morning. Way too chilly for Mom to take us to the park and she really hasn't been well enough.

Mom isn't sure why this surgery really kicked her butt - but it did and she has been struggling to get stronger. She has also had some major tummy upsets and has been having trouble eating --- she has dropped 11 pounds in just two weeks which also isn't helping her get better .....but we sure are enjoying all the left overs BIG time.

Mom says she is missing the green too (she is a spring/summer person) and our lawn has turned all brown now for winter but look at my tree - isn't is gorgeous. We thinks it has the best color in the neighborhood.

We also sent our Christmas cards out (we see some of you have already got them) - Mom was worried she would get more sickies and didn't want our buddies to miss out so got them out early. This week we will get our Christmas exchange gift box out too and we will will be sending out some secret Santa Paws gifts out too.

Oh and for you all you Scottie fanatics out there - (YES you KNOW who you are) - Walmart has the cutest little  Scottie fleece throw blankies out at the moment for  $9.99.

Which one one false?

Did you guess which one one false?  Number 1 was - there is no way we would ever let other doggies in our house let alone let them STEAL our bedtime cookies.

Number 2 was in fact real - we were sitting by our front door when a 3 foot high hopping tree rat appeared.

This hopping tree rat actually lives at our house but you know it was such a long journey that since she arrived from Australia 6 years ago we haven't actually seen her hop once.  She does occasionally fall over though which is a bit odd.

See that corner I (The Reilly) am facing - well that is Roo likes to rest. It amuses Mom the number of delivery and post peeps who think Roo is real and is greeting them when she opens the door.

False confessions day

Okay, so today is Ranger's false confession day.

1. One day when mom and dad were out for a few hours a marauding pack of starving doggies entered our house. We put up one all mighty fight to protect MY homestead...... there was paper and tissue and shredded stuffiness all over the place. But one marauder must of sneaked off by itself and found our box of bedtime cookies, knocked them over off the dresser and ate the WHOLE lot - a whole pound of MY cookies !!!!!!!!!!!

2. One day we looked out our front door and saw the biggest ever hopping tree rat......dog oh dog, this thing stood like three foot tall. We both growled and barked at it but it just stood there looking at us until Mom closed the door. She said it was nothing to worry about - it was just a kangaroo !!!!

So which one do you think is the false confession?

Monday Munchies

Mom went and had some of her stitches out this morning (the rest will come out next Monday) - but on the way home she went to our favorite pet store and picked us up some munchies. She found us these yummy Moo Chews - which are dried cow ears but they are not oily like the pig ears are.  We thoroughly enjoyed them especially as we are having the most beautiful blue sky day and it was wonderful to sit outside. And check out MY tree - it is finally changing color. Mom and Dad planted this tree just for ME so I would have a nice shady spot in summer to lay on the grass. It seems kind of odd to have such wonderful weather when so much devastation was caused with tornado's yesterday through the central part of the USA and our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by them. One of the tornado's actually did a lot of damage to a town Mom and Dad lived in when they were in Indiana. We sure hope all our buddies are safe if they live in those areas.

Such Sad News

We were so very very sad to read yesterday that yet another furbaby had crossed the rainbow bridge. Mom had a severe attack of leaky eyes. Our dear friend Essex who had just turned 10  - from the Key West Collies died in her sleep on Thursday night. It was completely unexpected as she hadn't been sick and we can only imagine how heartbroken her Dad dog must be as it wasn't to long ago that Deacon also left unexpectedly after a freak accident.  Dad dog does have Sherman to help comfort him but please do call on by and leave a message of comfort. We know Deacon and Essex are catching up over the rainbow bridge and are happy to see each other again - but we will miss you Essex.

Nurse Reilly Here

Firstly - we wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all the power of the paws and prayers for the Mom. A big special thank you to Dawn for helping keep everyone informed.

For the last 3 years Mom has had multiple surgeries to try and repair her stomach. She only has skin and no muscles over her intestines and runs the risk that the skin could tear and her intestines could come out.  They have been trying to use  special mesh to try and strengthen the skin but each time she develops an infection and they end up having to remove it again. Sadly the same thing happened again this time.  This is either the sixth or seventh time now  - Mom has lost track. They removed the mesh and drained the abscess last week and left the wound open so it could drain and then on Tuesday her surgeon was able to close the wound. It is a big wound with many stitches and staples. Mom was also on IV antibiotics the whole week and needed two blood transfusions.  I told her she should eat some nice raw steaks but she didn't seem to like that idea. Anyway,  Mom came home last night and now we just have to keep our paws crossed there is no more infections and she can heal again.

Of coarse I am being the perfect nurse. I make sure Mom gets a little exercise by getting up to give me a cookie every hour on the hour and I bark at imaginary monsters so she has to get up and see what I am barking at - keeping her moving is very important. I stay just a few inches out of reach so she has to stretch to pat my head.  Dweeb is hanging around somewhere in the background - he isn't much into this whole nursing thing and just between you and me - it took him a whole day just to remember who Mom was!!!!!!!!! Mom is sleeping a lot at the moment so I will try and get around and visit everyone while she naps. Thank you again to everyone for the good vibes.

surgery tuesday

Mom's doctor had a cancellation for tomorrow so she is going to have surgery  tomorrow afternoon.....paws crossed if all goes well she can come home on Wednesday. Dad says that "some doggy" has been quite busy at home and that Mom will have to have "words" with him when she returns .......That is providing she can find him

Saturday, November 9, 2013

Thank you

Than you everyone for your good wishes. Mom hopefully will be home Wednesday from that nasty hospital place. Please keep your paws crossed for as she will be needing more surgery early in the week. I have been telling Dad to bring her.home EVERY day but he hasn't been listening and says she has to stay there until she is better.

Fall Colors and Mom

The Mom still isn't feeling well but yesterday she took us to the park anyway because she was worried about us not getting our walkies and she wanted to see the leaves changing color. We really do have the MOST amazing color changes going on at the moment.....Mom wished she could of shown some of it.  They say this is the best ever change of colors our area has ever seen.

We only had a little walk and then Mom had to go back to the doctor and sadly the infection is getting worse. She had another abscess he had to drain so now had two holes in her stomach. Now Mom has a lot of allergies and can't take a lot of antibiotics so the 7 day supply of the ones she can take cost over $1,700.  Thankfully we only had pay $400 but it was still a shock when they told her at the counter. It was either that or back in hospital again and Mom just DIDN'T want to do that. So please can you cross those paws for Mom cause she doesn't want to have any more surgery or get any more sickies.

Don't Forget

Jazzi and her Mom will be doing the pawsome Christmas Card Exchange list again this year so sign up.  There is nothing better then popping down to the letter box each day in December and finding a wonderful card from a special buddy. So what you waiting for - head on over to Jazzi and her Mom's page and sign up.

We are sorry we haven't been around much - Mom has been fighting the infection she got after her surgery and her stomach has been very sore which makes it hard for her to sit for long or even walk. Hopefully next week we will be able to have some little adventures.

We also wanted to thank every furbody for the lovely comments on Dogville. We still have room for some other little buildings that will be named after some angel buddies. Mr Pip already had his Roadkill Cafe, Benny has his Benny & Lilly Barkery (we are sorry his Mom couldn't see the video - we know it doesn't work Ipad's for some reason) We are trying to think of a place for Thunder from the OP pack.....if you have any ideas on what kind of store we could have for  him ...please let us know.
