Mothers of Angels

Last summer they started building something near the entrance of MY park (after I gave them MY permission of coarse).  We don't often walk there because there is so much traffic and cars scare the Dweeb but it was quiet yesterday and we decided to see what it was they have been working on.  It is called the "Mother of Angels" Garden and has been constructed to all of those mothers who have lost children. The paving stones around the base have the names of children that have become angels. It is sad and beautiful at the same time. We will take some more pictures in a few weeks when the flowers are all blooming. Mom wondered if they going to make a 'Fathers of Angels' garden one day too?

  1. That is beautiful, and a beautiful touching thing to do. You two should be very gentle when you step on those stones and remember the little children who are angels now! Thank Mom for the pretty photos.

  2. That is lovely and what a sweet idea but it does kind of leave the dads out. Sad yet uplifting sentiment to remember the little ones. Have a tremendous Thursday.

  4. My sister is the mother of an angel, and I've been thinking about our angel a lot lately, since her birthday is coming up. I think the statue is beautiful. And yes, I think they should make one for the fathers as well.

  6. Such a beautiful tribute. I salute parents who have a human angel and continue to live. I can't imagine the pain they feel everyday.

  9. What a beautiful idea!!! We know how special that place will be to so many who have lost their children. We agree with your Mom - it would be nice to do something special for Dads too.

  12. That sure is a lovely statue! We both hope there is a dad one somewhere, too. My peep knows of too many parents who have angels and agree with everyone else how important it is to remember them!

  13. That is beautiful and has made mom have a little cry. She lost 3 babies that she never got a chance to meet - so we are her babies now.

Your mom is right about wondering about a father of angels ... our dada hurt just as much as mom did.

  15. Yes, we agree. Beautiful and sad. Such opposites. We think of all my angel "dog and cat" brothers and sisters who have moved on before us when we read your post.
