What's happening in my yard

For the last couple of days strange things and lots of noise have been happening in my yard. Mom says there is a large "dog perch" being built and I will be able to sit up there and survey all of my garden and watch the world go by. I am liking the sound of that - but not all the noise to make it. The builders are using this big compressor type nail gun and it goes off with a bang every time they use it. It does kind of disturb the nap time rather. Added to this is the constant barking of "IT" who thinks none of this should be happening in "HIS" garden. That is sooooooo wrong as we all know it is "MY" garden - not "HIS". Mom does let me out to dogervise the building - I have to make sure it is up to Reilly standards. Some of you may not know this but dad and I built a deck when we lived in Nebraska - so I am an EXPERT at deck (perch) building. Sure it was small - but we did it together and I was SOOOO proud of my deck - I would sit on that watching the world go by and it sure made going out my doggie door a lot easier. Oh! we did actually put a hand rail down the steps (it's not shown in these photos). Stay tuned for more pics on the progress of my perch.

  2. How lovely!
We don't have this kind of deck at home because we usually try our best to stay indoor instead of outdoor as it's so hot and humid here.

  4. Reilly - our deck is our favorite lookout post - it is the best way to survey the kingdom, so we know you are going to love yours.

We are getting a new roof some time this month so we will have all that nail banging noise too. Hope things quiet down for you for the weekend.

  17. How exciting! Mom helped her Dad put a deck in years ago, and knows how exciting it is to have something you had a hand in building. We can't wait to see the finished "perch".
