Mom's a bit worried

So the Mom says she's a bit worried about me - you know why - because I am enjoying my retirement! Since the "THING" - "HONEY BADGER" - Denny (what ever you want to call it has come, I have slipped gracefully into an old age attitude - or so Mom thinks. I don't play with the youngsters, rarely get past a fast walk and generally snooze most the day. (Well gee Mom - ya think months of 90+ degree all day every day has something to do with that????) Really - give me one good reason why I should exert myself? Mom says I am thinking and acting like I am 10 year old instead of 4 - well if she had to carry this big old coat around - she wouldn't be feeling so spritely either! I say "leave the boy alone and wake me up when winter comes" Paws up for those who agree.

  1. Reilly, good to see you. Tell Mom not to worry, Phantom and Thunder are doing the same thing here. They are letting Ciara and Lightning do all the crazy zoomies.

  4. Bailey's been quieter this summer while Katy's been zooming. I expect his energy to increase as the temps decrease.

  8. Katie turned 4 last Christmas...so she'll be 5 soon. I have noticed she naps more...but she's still ready to go go go if I offer her the opportunity. Possibly Reilly is just worn out by all the change, moving, Jackson, Denny, and has found you are so engaged with the youngsters that he can get away with being quiet. He always was laid back. I'd spend some time with just him, take just him on a walk maybe once in awhile...and see if he seems normal then. Otherwise...maybe a trip to the vet just to be sure?

  10. I have to ask this question....

Is it paying off for you to act tired and older? If it is, then keep it up. That way they will continue to give you special treatment instead of IT.

If not, you better be thinking of another way to get the better of Denny.

    Does that make sense?

  11. Oh my gosh! When I read this, I thought of my furry sister, Nala! Mommy says she used to run around like a puppy at 12 years old (just before I entered the picture), but since I've been here, over the past year, she's slowed down a lot!

Mommy thinks when the weather starts getting cooler (months from now), she'll take Nala outside and throw balloons up in the air (one of her favorite games to play).

Though... she still has spurts where she acts just like me... a puppy. ;)

    Woofs & hugs <3,

    ~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)

Let the youngsters be idiots in the summer heat. We know better!

Much too hot for those in fur coats.

  18. Well, having a puppy in the house can be tiring, and it is kind of hot. Are you eating and pooping OK? Moms know best, so if you are not your old self soon, might want a vet check just in case.

  19. I have to agree. Fur makes you hot!!! And when it is hot outside, I don't feel too active either. Bet she will be wishing you were still "retired" when it cools off.
