Showing her the sights

We have been having lots of fun showing Dad's daughter all of MY wonderful parks and filling her in on the rules of being a bark ranger. This morning we got up super early at 6.00 am to be ready for the sunrise at 7.00 am but alas there was no pretty colors today. We did however have  a long leisurely walk and we showed Valerie how to do some sand art. Valerie spent a long time looking for shells but one thing our beach just doesn't have is shells. Mom looks for them all the time too but has never found any either. Mom is hoping the next time we have a big storm some will wash up. Now of coarse you can buy bags of assorted shells in just about every other shop but they all been been bleached and cleaned so much they have no sea smell left and mom says what good is a shell that doesn't smell of the sea. We hope you are all had a wonderful weekend.

  1. I hope you will find some shells once... to buy them in a store isn't the same... oh wait, maybe you will find amber once or a pirates treasure on the beach instead? that would be good too :o) Have a great Labor Day with your visitors :o)

  2. Why your Dad's daughter is not a hurricane I know that ~ you tried to fool me. But now there is Erika but I think she is a fizzle. Then there is Grace hopefully she shows grace and does no damage. Happy Labor Day

  3. Looks like a lot of fun, even without shells. You guys liked having company! I had a nice partial weekend, then drove back up north on Sat and Sun when the traffic was less. We leave on Wed for Canada for 2 weeks. Katie is not pleased.

  7. Mom remembers the same thing about her visits to the beach. Lots of broken shells but not many really nice ones. We bet Valerie has still enjoyed her stay with all of you.

    Have a good week.
