More Shells

We had the most awesome walk on the beach - we wandered up and down it 3 times while Mom was hunting for shells and she found 2 more big ones and some different types of smaller ones. Now what we didn't mention the other day is this beach is part of the Mayport Navy Base (so it's not open to the public) and it is much wider and higher than the beach we go to at MY Hanna Abby Cowspotdog Park. If you look at the 2nd photo you can see all the crushed shells behind us and this is where we have been finding our treasures. You might also notice the barge ship behind us and the tug pulling it - Mom was amazed to read that the tugs actually pull these barges loaded with cargo all the way down to the Bahamas! This is where the ships and barges leave the ocean and enter into the St Johns River which is actually a HUGE intercostal waterway that you can follow for hundreds of miles. When Mom and Dad went of their cruise they saw many such barges passing by.
Running free !!!!!!!!!!
Is there something behind us?

  8. Really pretty shells! You'll need some glass jars to display them in. Mom loves watching ships too. She was in Panama once and watched the huge cargo ships, some with towers several stories high on them, line up and go through the Panama Canal (which she never went through). Love Doly

  9. So, what's our mom going to do with the shells? I bet she has some creative idea brewing! They are beautiful. What fun to have a real live treasure hunt.

  10. Wow! We loved seeing all those shells, and the big ship, and you doggies too, of course. Ghostwriter says she wishes she was able to visit Florida this year. But she'll have to wait till next year. Thanks for all the great photos!
