We are happy to woof that we survived Tropical Storm Colin - in fact we didn't even notice it as it went over us over night and we just got LOTS and LOTS of rain.
Of coarse everything is now soggy and wet -including us whenever we go outside. Unfortunately our back yard looks a bit like a jungle at the moment as Mom hasn't been able to get out and mow it for the last couple of weeks. See we have a secret about a certain "pain in the butt" issue concerning the Mom. While on vacation on Sanibel Island Mom was constantly kneeling or squatting down to pick up shells and somehow seems to have severely irritated or strained the nerves/muscles/tendons/ligaments (the doctors can't to seem to figure out exactly which) in her right hip and butt. The pain got so bad she even ended up in ER over the weekend and she couldn't walk. They told Mom it could take 6-8 weeks to heal so both Mom and I are kind of hobbling around now - and check out my red sock - it is actually one of those non slip socks they give you in hospital (they gave them Mom) and she found it is perfect for me around the house and stops my foot sliding on our tile floors. I also have a special boot that Mom puts on when I go outside that is water proof. Oh - the Dweeb (Denny) says hi too - he says he has been feeling a little left out lately :)
Just as a side note - We know a few of you have also been concerned that I may have to have my foot amputated if it continues to not heal - my Vet says this is NOT going to happen and in the worse case scenario I may just lose a toe but after yesterdays visit he is much more optimistic that it will heal fine - it is just going to take some time.
hugs to your mom and potp to you and the mama... I hope so much that all pains go away like that storm... and I'm glad your vet said to cut someting off is no option... I worried as I read about the bacterias in your foot...
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it through the storm. I hope you and mom get better soon. Woof at you later❤
ReplyDeleteMy mom and I are thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteYour pal,
Christmas
Praying that darn bacteria clears up and your paw is fine!!! Hugs from Michigan!!!
ReplyDeleteBOL both you and your mom are two peas in a pod, hope you both get better soon. The side note is good news.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
Hey there Denny! Missed you little guy.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your survived the storm! Now we just need mom and Reilly to get better....
Glad everyone is ok, sending POTP to Mom and Reilly! xoxo DakotasDen
ReplyDeletePoor Mom - that can't feel very good at all. We hope she AND you both heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
So glad that you got through the storm OK! We were thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteThat red sock looks like a great no-slip thing! Clever idea!
Cammie!
Great news about the paw! We just hope it will heal very soon. Your poor Mum. We can just imagine you both hobbling around. 6-8 weeks sounds like a HUGE amount of time. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't hear anything on the news about the weather down there so figured nothing really bad happened. Glad it missed you. That sock is a great solution - smart Mommy! Wondering if a chiropractor could help your Mom. We both have been helped a lot by them.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you made through the storm just fine! We hope that you and your mom are back to 100% soon, Reilly!
ReplyDeleteFirst, glad that Collin turned out to be mostly rain. And relieved that there is no chance that Reilly could lose his paw, a toe wouldn't be good but he has a few others so maybe not so bad. Sounds like he has turned a corner for the better. Give Dweeb a big hug from us. If you can check your Twitter feed I sent out a request for #pawcircle and #POTP for Reilly. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteWe have our paws crossed for you Reilly and are glad to hear the storm didn't effect you very much.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are safe and dry. We hope your Mama heals up soon!!
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... glad you survived the storm. Sorry about poor Mom. That's a REAL pain in the butt, aye?? It has all been about you and Mom lately. We have been rather ignoring Denny. Sorry Denny ...... how ya doin' mate??????
ReplyDeleteWe have good feelings that your paw is getting all better - slow but surely. And we send some good thoughts fur your mom
ReplyDeletehugs

Bless y'alls hearts. ♥ ♥ I am so sorry that both of you are having troubles. Take it easy and rest up so you'll be able to hit the beach in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteHope your momma feels better soon! And of course, POTP for da paw!
ReplyDeleteMy mom hurt her back about ten days ago and could barely move for several days. I had my animal chiropractor, who was a human chiro first, come by and give her an adjustment. It took a couple days to really start working but she is so much better and is getting a second adjustment tomorrow. Has your mom tried a chiropractor? For those weird issues they are often more effective and there are no pills involved. My mom doesn't trust doctors when she hurts herself and can't move as they always push the pain meds and talk surgery and stuff.
ReplyDeleteWE are Sooooo sorry to hear that your mom damaged herself while on vacation... we are sending HER some POTP along with the POTP fur YOU Reilly. Guess it is up to Denny to keep everybuddy under control until you are both well again.
ReplyDeleteOMD we are so happy that you got through the effects of COLIN... OKAY. THAT is really good news.
We are very glad you didn't get much of that storm. Sorry for Mom's back. Our ghostwriter has to be very careful about her back too.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your foot starts healing soon. Our old Charisma dog had a tumor on one of her front toes and ended up getting her toe amputated. She did very well after that even though she was getting old by then. Ghostwriter (who is the wound care nurse at the nursing home) recommends Aquacell AG for that toe to help it heal. Don't know if they have something like that for doggies.
Ask the doc if putting it in the ocean would help. My doc actually recommended it for a boo boo and it healed it

So glad you made out OK in the storm. Also, just read Lily and Edward's comment above and was wondering the same thing. Sending lots of good thoughts and healing wishes.
ReplyDeleteI think that red sock becomes you. Red represents valor and hardiness yep that's you.
ReplyDeleteFeel better you and Mom.
