Happy Thanksgiving

You know we don't really do the whole thanksgiving thing (or Christmas) at our house - Mom says when you don't have family or kids around there just isn't much point to it. So for us it is just another day BUT we do give thanks every single day when we get to go to MY beach or one of MY parks. Today especially we gave thanks for a walk at MY Jacksonville Cowspotdog Arboretum Gardens and the Little Ravine Loop we went on. It was amazing to see all the big trees that had been blown over in that last big storm and to see how high the creek that runs through the ravine had flooded up to. The pics below show us in front of one the big trees and blew over and then you can see the whole tree and the other on is of us in front of these weird tree roots and then showing a better look at them - why would a tree grow like?

Anyhoo - we sure do wish everyone a wonderful thanksgiving and we hope you all get to spend time with your family and friends and enjoy the get together.

  5. The last time we had lots of trees falling down, there had been a big ice storm in 1991. Wow! Trees and branches down everywhere! It's amazing what Nature can do! Hope you have a great day and get lots of good eats on this Thanksgiving day!

  6. Howlidays are quiet at our house too. Mom says we are like Jehovah Witnesses cuz we are so low key that there really isn't a key. So today our pawrents are going to a Chinese restaurance and promised to bring me and Stanley some treats. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  9. Don't you miss turkey dinner though? There's not a whole lot of people this year at our Christmas but I still like to have a nice meal. Lucky for me, my sister and brother-in-law make it.

  12. My mom says she does things for herself and if others are around for them too. If she likes the holiday and celebrates we are there too!

  14. You don't need a big family or kids to do Thanksgiving. I have no "birth children" of my own. For many years it was me and maybe one other person doing Thanksgiving, sometimes it is far more intimate and meaningful. That being said, we should all give thanks EVERY day!
