P is for park - P is for Pinecones

Oh boy - Mom took us somewhere new today - it is called the Doggie Park and all over the ground were these awesome toys that Mom called pine cones and WE LOVE them pine cones. (Dont worry - Mom made sure we didn't eat them - just played with them) They are all crunchy and roll around when you pounce them. We was a bit disappointed that there were no other other doggies to say hello to but we had a great time running around. But guess what else we got to see - guess guess guess - they are small furry creatures that Mom called squirrels. I the Remi dog wasn't very interested in them but Kenzie went into 'pointer dog' mode when he saw one, he just stood absolutely still with one foot up in the air - he is such a dufuss.

  1. Awwww, those look like the big pinecones on the mountain in Alabama! You'll have to get your mom to take you over to the lake sometime. Maybe when it's hot in Florida, I hear there are some air conditioning vents perfect for sheltie tummies over there.

  10. What a beautiful pine cone you found, Remi. It looks quite tasty and it won't be long before you'll be chasing after those stoopid squirrels, Kenzie!

  11. We have pine cones too, but not that size. I would think a dog park might be a place a squirrel would not want to visit. Unless those squirrels get their jollies by throwing those gigantic pine cones at the doggies! Have fun, pups, but be careful!

  12. Keltic can't believe you didn't chase those nasty squirrels. They're the enemy. My first Sheltie was named Duffy. Did you know the word "duff" is also used to refer collectively to all the stuff on the forest floor? Like pine cones, needles, leaves. That's where I got his name, he was a sable Sheltie too.
