- You can’t initialize your iPad unless you have a computer.
- AND an iTunes account.
- My ability to personalize the device (it is MINE, right?) is extremely limited.
- Many of the apps can’t be personalized (what if don’t LIKE brown for my calendar)?
- It does not support flash.
- It does not support Java.
- It has no USB ports.
- Memory is limited.
- It can only do one thing at a time.
- There is no BACK button.
- There is only one way to do most things.
- You can’t put anything on it, except through iTunes.
- You can’t take anything off, except through iTunes.
- There are many things you can’t readily save elsewhere AT ALL.
For me personally I would also add.......
1. Try using it to blog.....good grief!
If you want to add a photo to your post it is near impossible and trying to put the photo where you want it ....forget about it! And it won't even show you the whole screen in blogger!
2. Trying to edit anything will just about make you bald (from pulling your hair out in frustration). This constant having to correct the stupid auto correct, having to hide the keyboard so you can go back in a paragraph ....flicking between screens constantly to get to numbers and symbols.....ahhhhhhh it is no wonder my furs is falling out.
3. The touch screen is so rough on the paws......half the time I have to paw at something 2-3 times to get anything to appear even using the expensive stylus dad bought me doesn't help.
4. Don't even get me started on the browser safari another piece of
5. Basically the only thing it is good for is making your blood pressure go up and for playing games on it....so if you thinking about getting one of these......we would recommend you think twice about it and get something more windows based.
aparently for both you and My Vickie this is a "Sarcastic" day. My recomendation to you is the same one I gave My Vickie.
ReplyDeleteTAKE THE DOG FOR A WALK You'll feel much better.
hehe

Reilly, we are with you, Dad gave his away to the Salvation Army. Don't know if it was a tax write off or a joke!

We got Samsung Galaxy Note. So far we like it, but it doesn't support Flash either :(
ReplyDeleteI got myself a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas and I love it. I would have to say that you can do a lot of the things you can't on the iPad with the Kindle so if you are thinking of switching I would recommend the Kindle Fire.

So glad my MOM stgicks with her Toshiba laptop.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Yeah. So glad the tablet I am getting has Android. It just sounds so much easier to use. Sorry your iPad is giving you so much grief!
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't sound like any fun at all...to much wasted time in our precious days!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that!
Hugs and wags, Mistaya and mom
Uh oh. My asst. was given one of those for Christmas. So far, she's not loving it.
ReplyDeleteMom does adore hers. Most of those are true, others, there are ways around it. It's just another toy

I love love love our iPad! We would be absolutely LOST without it. They aren't for everyone though. Mama still uses her MacBook for things like writing blogs, since she is fussy about formatting!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Technology is getting ((((shitty))))
ReplyDeleteHappy new year
Cotton
Thanx for that. We certainly won't be getting one.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all......a rockin New Years' Eve & a happy start to the New Year tomorrow.
Have a marvelous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Oh dear. I have had mine for a couple of months. For reading email and blogs, it is great. I can sit in my comfy chair (my current location) and catch up with my pals. I also like it for Internet searches. But no way it replaces a standard computer. I wouldn't even attempt to post a blog with it. Yes, it is a limited tool, but I do like having mine. Stick with it.
ReplyDeleteMango Momma
I think it is hard to go from windows to apple. It is even harder for people to go from apple to windows. I guess we all like to stick with what we know. No surprise there.
ReplyDeleteWhy they can't make it support flash I just don't understand. That is the worst thing on your list but you make good points. I still love my ipod touch though. :)
ReplyDeleteTechnology sucks especially for dogs. I can't recognise my own face on the camera of Eve's iPod touch, but apparently it's because dogs have no sense of self recognition. I am still convinced its because the iPod is rubbish
ReplyDeleteBe like me and stick to squeaky and tuggy toys! Woof!
My mom just uses her Ipad for reading and emailing. She thinks it is easier when she is travelling.

Hmmm, Dog Dad is mostly still in the stone age. He limits his technology as it frustrates him and he rather spend time with his us.

When I first got my iPhone, I HATED it so much. But then after a month or so, I got used to it and let myself learn the ways around it. You have been a PC all your life haven't you? I know I have. So going to an Apple equipment was a pain! I still think you can do a lot more with PC's and Windows. We have an iPad, and both me and my mom were using it. It got too confusing with two accounts, so I deleted mine and let my mother have the iPad all to herself. I'm perfectly happy with my humongous laptop.
ReplyDeleteLee does not have one of those things! She does not like to be tethered to each new contraption that comes along. Healthy Happy Safe New Year to all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
Well good to know Reilly! I had not considered getting an Ipad...but if I ever do I'll check in with you!
ReplyDeleteI didnt like the ipad to much when we first got it, two years ago. But there are some nice things about it but it wont replace your laptop (at least not yet). The new camera is wonderful for taping agility runs. Now when you tape someones run you can see whats happening. Before, with the little cameras, you couldnt see what was happening in the weave poles ect.. Also I like some of the agility apps they have for it. Like the ilog and the imap. But again, it wont replace my laptop.
ReplyDeleteMommy got out of the Stone Age and got an iPhone. She feels your frustration. Mommy doesn't want to have to go to iTunes but it looks like she is gonna have to. She wanted to put her own ringtone but it looks like you must have iTunes. It stinks.
ReplyDeleteOh no, that sucks. My peep got a Google Nexus for Christmas, so far she loves it!
ReplyDeleteYes, the mom has an Ipad for work but doesn't care for it. When it was time for her to get a new phone everyone was like "Get an Ipone" and mom was like "NO!". She prefers her droid stuff more, and whenever it's time to redo her Ipad, she's going to get something Droid like so we can blog anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHear , HEAR! And that is why my postings on the road were crap. My god, do I even have hair left? It is awfully good for commenting in bed though, like I'm doing now :) I had a very short rage post myself a few months back. Very short because it was all I could type on the iPad in bed!
