A gift from Reilly

Hi everyone. I just wanted you all to know that the Dweeb and I are doing just great. He was waiting right there at the end of the rainbow bridge when I arrived and then we went around and said hi to every doggie we knew from our blog who was already here......it took a long time as sadly there are quite a few.

You know this place is kind of odd.....even though we miss our mom and dad a lot....and are sad not to be there....the sadness doesn’t hurt. Nothing hurts here, my arthritis has gone and my feet are perfect, I can run and play and my bark is louder than ever. Oh and you know ...you only have to think about a treat and it just appears..right there before you ...and you can eat as many as you want and never put on weight! And I only have to think about a favorite beach or park and boom....I am there!

But I keep an eyes on my folks and we have been watching our mom and dad and we know that their sadness is really hurting ...especially our moms. We watch her every day when she’s alone and cries ...and we know her heart hurts so much......so we spoke to the BIG DOG and asked if we could do something to help our mom. That night I was there in her dreams ....it was only me cause Dweeb Denny said moms mind was to scary a place to visit.

Anyway...in the dream mom and I were walking along in the park and mom saw a tag on the ground and picked it up...it had the name “Kenzie” on it. There was nothing else on it .....and mom was confused...so I told her that is for your new puppy and you will need to put your phone number on it when you get him. The next day mom found the link to Kenzie and Remi. The dweeb was supposed to tell mom about Remi.....but he the dweeb after all so we know how that goes.

Mom kept saying she wasn’t ready and it was too soon but I told her it is never too soon to love and that these two little guys needed her as much as she needed them. Dad agreed ...so off they went to get them. We love watching mom smile and laugh again.....even though she still cries a little when she sees our pictures or remembers some special memory. We know those two are going to have the best lives possible ...just like Denny and I did .....and I know they will carry on our legacy of being excellent (but junior) bark rangers soon. We love you mom and dad!

  3. We agree with Bertie - this is a beautiful post. It takes a long time for those tears to stop. Kenzie and Remi will give her puppy hugs and smiles to help her get through.

  5. Well now I'm crying up here. But thank you, Reilly, for reassuring all of us that were wondering how you were doing up there. Especially glad to know you and Denny have connected, I'm sure he was relieved to see you. I'm very happy for your mom and dad that the new babies are there, but I sure do miss you two guys. I hope you pop in now and then just to say HI. Katie sends kisses, she will always be your girl. But she's open to being the babies' aunt if they need one.

  8. Oh Reilly, it is very good to hear that you and Denny are doin' good, and there are treaties to eats when ever you wants them! (not so much here....sigh) Anyhu, I am so glads that you sent your Moms that message, cause sometimes Moms think to much, and needs a push in the right direction. Good job my furiend. Even though you boyz will always be the OG Bark Rangers, I am sure Kenzie and Remi will work hard to live up to your legacy.

  9. A new addition or two can help heal the holes in peeps' hearts. They can never replace older dogs, but they can add to the love and memories.
