Musing on Monday - Saturday Edition

Hmmm - somehow I forgot my Musing on Monday last week - but I am back again and do I have a gripe to gripe about. So I was reading what was new on all the buddies bloggies when a message popped up saying that Google Reader will be discontinued after July 1st this year. What the dog! It just so happens I LOVE Google Reader and use it every day - so why are they doing away with it?  Personally I am  going to be on a campaign to find out who made this decision and BITE THEM ON THE BUTT!

If you think this is a bad idea like I do - there is something you can do -  there is a couple of  online petitions available that have over 100,000 votes so far to keep Google Reader going so if you use and like it - we encourage you to get your paws busy and go vote!

Just a note - Thanks Sara - I went and checked out Feedly.com and it works in Firefox too. It was just a one click to sync it to my original Google Reader so I will see how it works over the following week and let every doggie know how it goes.  BUT - we would much rather keep our Google Reader - cause we are creature of habit and don't like change.

    I'm going to go over and vote. No idea if it affects me, I am sure it does. But I have read how every pup is so upset about it, so I am on board to sing the petition.

    I'll sign the petition! I start everyday with googlereader!

    However, I did go one "feedly.com", and all my feeds were transfered easily. I think you have to use google chrome though? Had to make sure I had a backplan, just in case!

    Oh, every doggie is so bummed abouts this! Why do 'they' do this to us?! Make somethin' we like, get us hooked, then TAKE IT AWAY!!

    We don't use Google Reader....but it has been our experience that whenever we find a product that we like, it's taken off the market, or 'improved' so it's unrecognisable.

    I feel so behind. I'd heard that Google Reader was going, heard it on facebook yesterday or day before. But I don't even know what Google Reader IS...

    Gosh - we didn't know about Google Reader being blasted away!!!! What are they thinking!!!!????

    Have to go and see what we can do!

    PS: So looking forward to your retirement back in Adelaide. Crafers/ Aldgate/ Stirling areas are LOVELY - good choice. We will keep you informed of the Adelaide News.... and look forward to meeting you when you get home!! We will open a bottle of bubbly together!     We were not happy to read about Google Reader either and we did sign that petition! And we also downloaded Feedly and had no problem and it's working for us just fine :-)
