Weather is warming up - but!

We made it to 48 degree yesterday and Mom said the magic words "lets go to the park"  Dog oh Dog - After much excited barking and prancing around she finally got our harnesses on and my boots and in the car we hopped.  There was not a cloud in the sky and it was so bright and sunny.

Mom says we whined all the way to the park but we were really just telling her to "drive faster - drive faster"  Anyhoo - after what seemed like 87 years we finally got there and as Mom opened the car door to attach our lead I spied a whole ginormous flock Canada Geese behind her and it was on !!!!!!!!!!

I was out of the car so fast I nearly knocked her off her feet in my rush to chase them. There was flapping, honking and hissing as they all went splashing into the lake - ah it was sooooooo satisfying. I trotted back to Mom with the BIGGEST smile on my face and she just glared at me - "What the dog" I thought - I just saved her from a pack of marauding geese and she is glaring at me.

Then she pointed to my boots - it seems that all the ice we have had has turned the MY park into a bit of a muddy quagmire. Mom shook her head and mumbled something under her breath - attached the lead and off we went.  We didn't get far though as even the main path was a squelchy mess so it ended up being a very short walk - but I least I got to tell those geese off!

  1. Glad u told those geese off. They probably flew back to Canada.

  2. Ah yes, there are really five season every year ....winter, spring, summer, fall, and MUD season. Not looking forward to that. At least the snow keeps the dogs clean.

Good job protecting your mama from those geese Reilly!

  3. Haha - I'm not sure either Harlow or Monty would have come back!

    Monty and Harlow

  4. Worth the trip. Even short and muddy is grand when you get to chase geese.

  5. Whew, glad you were on top of your duty and Mom was safe. Oh don't get them booties muddy, then Mom will be really mad!

    The Mad Scots

  6. Snap we have a muddy quagmire too. Well done you Reilly from saving mum from marauding out of control geese. LOL! Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  7. It looks nice and sunny for a walk. Love the boots!

  8. A little fun is better than no fun.

  9. WE woke to ANOTHER 3.5" of SNOW... BUTT we are hearing that in the next few days we will have temps like you did.

You are lucky that you wore your boots... that way your mom didn't insist on WASHING YOUR PAWS... just the boots.
THANKS fur giving us a PREVIEW of what we HOPE our hill will soon look like.

  10. What??!!! NO appreciation for your brave deed in chasing off those geese! Sheesh! What's a bit of mud when you've put yourself in the line of DANGER to protect your pack.

Just because it was fun doesn't even come into it.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  11. Ugh man! Send me some warm weather! We are currently getting # 345459459586586 Snow storm!

  13. Yeah, Geese are for chasing...we all know that!! Congrats on your balmy 48 degree day. That is about where we are at.... a regular heat wave!

  14. Good work, Reilly - those geese need a good chasing now and then. And what's so bad about mud - at least you had boots on:)

  15. HA! Chasing geese? Totally worth a short walk!

    Bart, Ruby and Otto

  16. Thank goodness it was your boots that got dirty and not you, Reilly! You avoided the dreaded bath!

    Love ya lots♥
    Mitch and Molly

  17. Hoomans just don't appreciate being saved. They worry about muddy footies. Egad.

  18. I think this is perfect for Monday Mischief! Bolting out of the car is a no no in our house! Not looking forward to the mud, it comes with the thaw! Love Dolly

  19. What are boots for, if not for marching through muddy quagmires? (And I can assure you we know all about muddy quagmires here in Scotland…)
    Toodle pip!

  20. I'm glad you told those geese off too! I Mother Goose tried to attack me once which is part of the reason why I don't always love walkies, we have LOTS of Canadian Geese here. Pretty snazzy boots ya got there!
Barks and licks and love, Dakota

  21. So happy for you! We are dreaming of sunshine and warm weather!

  22. Lady says she would trade you our snow for some mud! Glad you go to chase the geese - they are evil and need a good chasing!

  23. Oh HOOOOO-RAY! You got to go to the park AND chase some rotten geese?!? I am so happy for you. It sounds like it was a ton of fun even though it was muddy.
    *high paws*

  24. Looks Pretty and what a nice day. We got lots of snow and its snowing again. Good thing you got boots :-) Golden Woofs

  25. Geese, I would of been right off..BOL, we have had 2 days respite of rain but everywhere is a mud bath xxoxxxx

    Mollie and Alfie

  26. I am so happy for you! Morgan and I have tried SO hard to convince Mom to let us catch a goose for dinner and she always says no. I hear they taste like chicken!

  27. I'm glad you told those geese off. They are mean to pups, or so I've been told. Thanks for posting about the laser toy. I got one for my birthday and have been having a blast with it!

Thank you for woofing at us - we read each and every one of them
