High Tides

This week we are having very high tides at our normal morning walk time so we are having to go a little later in the day. Sadly for Mom - it is still a shell-less sandy beach at the moment but that is okay because it means we just get to walk without her having to stop and look every few steps :) We did find this strange spikey thing on the beach though - Mom says it is called a long spined sea urchin and that it would not be good for us to stick our noses to close to it.  We also watched this tug boat just drifting along the break water - we guess it was waiting for a ship to come in. And just for those of you in colds snowy area - we thought we would rub it is a little and say we are expecting clear blue skies and a warm sunny high 70's low 80's all week :) :)

  6. I can see why you would want to nose the urchin and I can see why mom doesn't thinks it's a good idea.

  10. I agree with your mom that the sea urchin would not be good to put your nose on for a sniff! We have lots of rain headed our way so maybe if it travels to Florida, it will stir up some more shells.

  13. Perhaps the tides will turn and the shells will become more abundant.

  15. The tide can be an odd thing. In Germany on the North Sea the water moved around 1km in and out at tide time. Pretty weird.
