In the meantime what does POOR Reilly do????? - lays under the stupid table with the stupid train on.... looking all neglected and sad - I am sure this warrants another bone or two as compensation and what about MY WALKIES! Now Mom being the artistic one - she has started the design with the tunnel up at the end, a mountain and lakes and she spent ALOT of yesterday putting together a little kit house (seems Dad's fingers are too fat to do it - gawoof gawoof!). We will be showing updates over the following month as we go - we are in the design and building phase at the moment. Eventually it will be all covered with grass and and other scenery stuff and you won't see any of the construction work. Mom says we are doing the train layout the old fashioned way (which really means the cheap way) and we are going to build all our own stuffies to go on it.

What was she thinking?????
Really - as if it isn't bad enough that I have fight for MY Dad's attentions when the Dweebs are around I now have to contend with Dad's new obsession hobby - a train set that Mom got him Christmas! Mom thought it would be good to give Dad something to do (as if patting and loving me wasn't enough!!!!) and she thought maybe it would get him away from the TV and the internet (Dad is a news JUNKIE) Yeah !!!! How well is that working out for you Mom - now he spends ALL his time looking at train stuff on the internet and watching the DVD's on how to build a train layout!!!!!!!

Maybe you should accidently knock those train things off on the floor to get a little attention...negative or positive it is still attention.

Our uncle loves trains! He has an old trainset from his childhood that is an antique now! (does this mean he is getting old?)
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to see your finished trainset!
Our Grandpa is really into trains. He has a huge set up in Grandma's sun room in FL. Thankfully, it doesn't distract him from us when he visits.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I think you two are cute enough that you won't have any trouble getting Dad to pay attention.
So your mom got herself a train set!! Poor Reilly - so neglected! Sending you a virtual bully stick to keep you occupied while you WAIT to go for a walk!!

Heres a thought, why don't you suggest that they build a grocery store and a meat market, so's you can get your treats when you want them. Just watch how to turn the train on and go get stuff.

We hope to see some Sheltie statues included in the train display. How about a dog park. Maybe a pet salon. Oh the ideas are endless. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteGo chase the trains we say, We would. Toot Toot! Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I'll pick you up at the station. You can go with me to fight the zombies.
ReplyDeleteBig Boys just like little boys like trains, Reilly. I'm sure you'll still get walkies and lots of petting.
ReplyDeleteBoys and their toys, eh Reilly? I really want to go on a train. Can dogs go on trains in the US? We can here! And it doesn't bother me that I get travel sick!! Heehee!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that your mom got your dad a toy! :) You'll just have to put up with it Reilly!
ReplyDeleteWe've got a train layout being built here too! Looks like it is the same scale as yours. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteMom says that her brothers used to be into the trains and they loved it! We can't wait to see progress updates!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Oh Reilly, I know you will keep your mom company while she is busy with the train set. I do hope you can get a lot of treats after that though.
ReplyDeleteHey Reilly...you being the best dog in the whole world, you know that whatever makes Mom and Dad happy makes you happy. Right? Well...as long as they take you on walkies and give you treats on occasion.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhh, I adore the train. I love the train. I WANT THE TRAIN! Mama has a thing for train sets and she has wanted one for her Christmas village for years.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing when mom is being crafty! - I lie under her craft table and occasionally emit a moan or sigh to remind her that when she is doing craft things, she is neglecting me.
ReplyDeleteMom thinks the train set looks interesting and is wondering how your mom and dad will make the grass and scenery. I of course am opposed to anything that diverts attention away from the doggies!
