Yesterday we went for a LONG Sunday drive and discovered a new park to add to MY collection. I pee'ed in it - therefore it is MINE - that is the Reilly rules. MY new park is called Village Creek State Park and it is HUGE - bigger than all MY other parks. It has 33 miles of walking trails, two lakes, cabins you can rent, a golf coarse, tennis courts, baseball and soccer areas and even an equestrian center (we even saw some of the BIG dogs that live there - I think they had sore throats though as Mom kept saying they were horse!)
Mom LOVED this park, it is very hilly so you have to go up hills and down gullies, there are little creeks running all through it and lots of little bridges.
Here we are on one of the many bridges and then on another bridge way up on the hill - can you see us with Mom waaaayyyy up there. There was LOTS of steps to climb up and down and we all got a real good work out by time we reached the first lake.
And here are some more of the steps we climbed. The path in places sort of clung to the side of the hills and there was some pretty steep drops but Mom says we were like mountain goats and very sure footed. We had the best day and only discovered a little bit of it and can't wait to go back there when it is all green and pretty. Be sure to click on the pictures to see them bigger - it gives you a better look at all the steps.
That looks like a great park to go to on a hot day...there will be lots of shade!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
Gosh that is a big park and what fun to get out and explore. Glad your weather has improved now and you can enjoy the great outdoors again. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh my! I really want to go on some of those paths - that looks like an awesome trail. Do you think they would allow piggies on it? Ya'll would protect me, right? XOXO - Bacon
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of steps!!! But it looks like a lovely day and a beautiful park!!
ReplyDeleteRuby (and Angel Pip)
That is one huge park alright. So did you walk like 33 miles?
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Whoa, pals....some of those steps look mighty steep. You must have been like mountain goats to get up them. The park sure looks like it will be beautiful when the plants start to bloom. You will have to go back then for a hike and take more photos. Oh...and I love those little bridges. They are so fun to walk over.
ReplyDelete*high paws* for a great day!

That's a perfect park, I think it's THE park. It even has the bridge over troubled water, wow! And maybe you can bring the dogs with the sore throats some ems salt treats? I saw such dogs once too and I felt sorry for them. They had humans on their back...think that's something like a pain in the neck, but different.
ReplyDeleteYour new park is just pawesome!! We hope your Mama takes you there lots and lots!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

you are so lucky to have such wonderful parks near you! And with a golf course too!! We have a few parks, but very few permit dogs.
ReplyDeleteYou park looks so dry and nice. I have mud trails. I have a path that looks quite similar with a little bridge and steep steps. But I don't have horses. How lucky you have horses.
