Gambling on the waves

We mentioned yesterday about the Victory Casino Cruise Ship - well it leaves most mornings around 11 am and goes out for a couple of hours before coming back and getting ready for the evening cruise that leaves around 7 pm. Today we were able to get a better picture of it  although you might notice we were not on our normal rocks - that is because it was a high tide and the rocks we normally stand on to take pictures were underwater - and no way were we going to get our paws wet so they were taken from the beach. Mom always thinks it looks odd to see the beach, the rocks and then the boat and it looks more like the boats are floating on the rocks rather than the sea. We also got to see the CMA CGM Alcazar leaving which according to VesselFinder.Com was built in 2007 and is 284 meters (931 feet) long and sails under the flag of Panama.  That was a lot of cargo boxes of goodies heading somewhere. No treasures found at the beach today - the wind has been blowing from the west for the past week and we need it to swing to the east so it blows goodies onshore for us. But it is a beautiful sunny 75 degrees so we are happy:)

  1. Wow you guys, those are big boats!!! I don't think I'll ever go on a cruise...after watching the news about that last one that went right into the storm. That must have been terrifying. Why would they even leave NJ if there was a storm predicted? And then to go right into it? I think I'm staying on dry land.

  2. They do look like they are sitting right on the rocks. That would make a good card picture. stella rose
