FINALLY - it has stopped raining and we can get out and about. Mom thought that with all the rain and now damp ground it would be a perfect time to go fungi hunting so that was our challenge today - to find some fun-guys which of coarse we are so I don't know why had to go looking for them! First stop though was to look for some fall colors and we did find one or two trees with a tinge of pink but Mom loved the marsh grasses which have turned a gorgeous gold color.
No fungi around here though so we headed off up into the woods and look what we found. This first one was about 3 feet long and growing along a tree root. It was so pretty with all the layers. The second fungi we found looked just like donuts!
After hunting for the fungi we headed off to one of MY other parks in search of some more fall colors - still didn't find much but we will keep looking. We did notice however that the lake was looking a lovely green shade today:)
the first one looks a little like a water lily just without water :o)
ReplyDeleteOMD those round ones sure look like donuts. Hope the wet weather eases up your way and we are hoping ours does too. Have a terrific Tuesday.

We hate mushrooms. Ever since Greta ate one this summer and it made her cross the bridge. Be careful out there!!
