We don't often go to MY lake on the weekend as there are usually too many people for the Dweeb to cope with but sometimes when the Mom feels a bit lonesome she likes to go just so she can hear other humans voices. See the majority if the time - the only person Mom ever talks to is Dad and occasionally when she goes to the store she will have have a quick chat with the checkout person.
Anyhoo - this morning we went to the park and there was LOTS of people and do you know not a single one said hello back to Mom. She smiled and said hi to every single person that passed but not even so much as a mumble came back. We didn't even get a single 'oh what pretty dogs' comments today. You would think with a totally beautiful day like we are having today that people would be happy - but we guess not - so we came home and just felt sad too. It didn't last long though as we had had a pawsome game of ball in the back yard and then we were all hot, happy and smiling.
Reilly, that is so sad indeed. What is wrong with all these folk in your state? Who could resist stopping to comment on your extreme handsomeness. And Gail is always telling me how friendly everyone in next door Oklahoma was when she lived there. Perhaps you Mom can try saying 'hello' in an English accent and see if that starts a conversation?
ReplyDelete(Gail says that isa dumb suggestion but I am only trying to help).
Here's wishing you a happier Sunday.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
That is sad. We usually have to go walking first thing in the morning to avoid people stopping us for a chat. (We just want to walk).
ReplyDeleteAlthough, that seems to be changing here, but people do at least nod, or say G'day.
Can't believe no one wanted to say anything about you gorgeous boys.
WHAT??!! Oh man. That is just terribles. Peeps suck sometimes. Maybe it's just all the California sun, butts peeps here are always friendly and sayin' hello and chattin' and drinkin' margaritas (okays, maybe that last one is just MOI..☺). There are the few grumpy pants that just keep their head down and pass you by, butts luckily that is the exception.
ReplyDeleteI thinks your Moms needs a couple of margaritas...I'll be right overs!
Maybe I'll bring chatty Ma...you'll soon wish there wasn't the sound of her voice...BOL!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Dat are just rude! Come on over to Texas, da peeps'll say hi to ya and I'd probably bark ya hello.
ReplyDeleteThat is very sad. We wish you guys lived here. Everyone says hi back. I hope tomorrow is better.
ReplyDeleteThat is shocking! Anytime we go out and no one remarks about how handsome we are we know it is a weird day too. Your mom needs to take you to the Blogville Park. Lots of furiends there!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Crikey ..... your Mom needs to come back home to Australia. People are tooooo chatty here for my Mum.
ReplyDeleteThat photo by the lake is just beautiful!! Who wouldn't want to stop and pat you two????
That's outrageous, not a single, oh your dogs are so beautiful !?!
ReplyDeleteCan't understand some people
Loves and licky kisses

ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Sorry, to hear about that, but remember you were the bigger and better person for being nice to everyone. And when in doubt our dogs are the best to us. We say hello to you and we wish we had a warm, sunny day, instead we had rain. Have a great rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat is sad!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they're rendered speechless by your good looks?
I just will say this to your mom: As long as you got your beautiful dogs, don't be sad. It is the rude people's loss they don't say hello.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Mom says some days are just like that. Here's wishing you a joyful day tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteNever let rude humans get you down, they will try to steal your joy. Anyone that wouldn't acknowledge your Mom and you two handsome guys aren't people that I'd want to know. ♥ ♥
ReplyDeleteHello Reilly and Denny's mom, that's so sad. Our mum knows what it's like because very often the only human person she will see and talk to all day is dad. So we're sending lots of good Sheltie vibes across the ocean and a big hug from all of us here at Barkalot Farm.
ReplyDeleteLove from Gisela, Josh, Jessie and Jenna
We understand your mom's loneliness, my mom is lonely a lot of the time too. Having a blog and all of the pals on Facebook and Twitter really help a lot but don't take the place of real people. We wonder if your mom would be able to volunteer anywhere. An animal shelter, a soup kitchen? I am sure she would find lots of people to talk to there! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteSheesh...we agree that it is totally the other poeples loss!!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
That is sad and very like over hear. If you talk to someone they'd think you are mad. Have a serene and easy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That is sad, most people usually say something back to Mom when she says hi to them. Too bad you don't live here because our moms could hang out together sometimes and maybe we dogs could learn to get along too.
ReplyDelete((((hugs)))) to your Mom...the "sads" aren't fun. If you said hi to us we would DEFINITELY reply and we would give you tons of hugs too! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI work out of my home and having no family there can be days on end where I only talk to Sweet William. Our reader program and playing guitar occasionally is where we find people to talk with.
ReplyDeleteTo bad we don't live close to each other what a great time we could have.
Thanks for being a friend
