Oh my dog - there is so much going on today - Rangers Flashback Friday and Joke Day, Oz the Terriers Bad Poetry but you know what...... we have been having the most GORGEOUS weather the last couple of days that we just can't stay inside - we told Mom we were frazzled and needed to go exploring and who could blame us when it is a wonderful 78 degrees, clear blue skies - totally pawsome and totally perfect. We headed off to one of MY far away parks called Lake Poinsette. We LOVE going there because we can let Mom off her lead (it gets so tiring having to drag her everywhere - but at that park she can be lead free) And look they even provide benches along the path so she can rest her old bones. We spent like 87 gazzillion hours just wandering around and enjoying the peace and quiet and you know - we didn't see a single other person or doggie the whole time!
When we reached the lake we just vegged. I told Mom I was quite happy to spend the day there and found me this nice comfy spot that was hollowed out like it was made just for ME. Mom said we could of stayed all day if she had remembered to bring a picnic. Seriously - I wonder about the mental capacity of her sometimes.
The Dweeb of coarse spent the whole time looking over his shoulder and and worrying about every sound he heard. I was hoping Mom wouldn't notice when he got to close to the edge of the lake but she called him back - that would of been so much fun to see him fall in and get WET!
Now that WAS a great day! It's just too hot here to wander around anywhere. Going outside to pee is a challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Wow, that's really a nice place. I would like to spend a day there with a book and some treats. Do you think my staff could run there too without a leash? Have a wonderful Park-day!
ReplyDeleteMom has been taking us out to the fairgrounds to walk around also, she likes it out there for the very same reason....quiet and peaceful, next week we are going out to the lake.

ReplyDeleteOMD Velcro Kid went wondering down by the waters edge? How adventurous. Actually glad Dweeb didn't fall in as you'd have to share the journey back with a wet furend. Glad you had a great time out. Have a fabulous Friday.

You are sooooooooooooo lucky. We usually have to stay RIGHT NEAR HER when SHE's off the lead. SHE just disappears so quickly. How great that you had the park ALL TO YOURSELVES!!!

We, too, are experiencing a reprieve from the persistent jungle hot of July and it is glorious. Your adventure sounds just right (well, except for the lack of foodables).
ReplyDeleteI think the Dweeb could have used a little nudge. Hehehe.

Dexter
