The Mom has a quote she likes to live by "the only failure in life to no longer trying - for as long as we try - we can never fail" After 7 years of trying - she has finally succeeded in finishing the rug. Here she was this morning sewing up the edges which was the final part of the rug making. And here is the rug with the painting it was based on and the finished rug all by itself. Mom says she wishes you could all feel how soft it is. Now we just have to decide whether to use it as a rug or make it into a wall hanging and whether Mom will start another one :)
How amazing!!! It's almost too pretty to step on.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom's right. Mom has a Christmas table cloth it took her years to finish. She used to joke it would be an heirloom passed from generation to generation to finish it. She loves seeing it come out each year.
BowWowZer, that is a most beautiful work of art by your mama!! We voted and think you should hang it for a while, then use it on a floor some where it won't get ruined, like in a bath room. Have a great week.

That's great! At our collie national a woman was selling rugs like these, only they had rough and smooth collies on them! They were way out of my price range, but they were so lovely to look at!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it! WIsh I could step on it with my bare feet :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful! Our mom would definitely make it a wall-hanging - or maybe a table-topper?
ReplyDeleteThe design looks very Australian!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Well done to your Mom! What a fabulous rug! It really a good reminder to my Mum to get a wiggle on with her sculpting. One thing and another means she has had no time lately, but I will get on her case!
ReplyDeleteWe has not forgotten she needs to finish her little you's!!

SHE says to hang it. If you worked that long on it, don't let anyone walk on it....or lie on it.
ReplyDeleteFantastic job.
XXXOOO Bella & Roxy
It's a wall hanging for sure. I guess she could let you guys sleep on it once. Maybe. If you promise not to drool.
ReplyDeleteOkays, that is just FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteI loves it!! That's tough, I thinks after seven years, maybe you should hang it on the wall! That's a big accomplishment and your Moms should enjoy it without doggie drool...for a while at least! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
pees: oh, I guess not all doggies drool like me...nevermind...
It looks pawsome!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous!!! We can't wait to hear what she has planned for her next rug!!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!

Crikey ... that is so lovely. I wouldn't be putting it on a wall. Your Mom said it's soft ..... I'd be sleeping on it.
ReplyDeleteOh we think a wall hanging it way too pretty to walk on and that way you can see it better! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteI am sure wherever it ends up, that glorious piece of art will be appreciated! You sure do have a gift!
