We were enjoying a slow walk around MY park this morning when Mom happened to see this little guy sitting on the grass. At first she thought it was a mouse but then noticed the funny little nose and tiny tail. It was only about two inches long and Mom wondered if it was a teeny tiny mole but when we got home she looked it up online and found out it was a pigmy shrew ! Who knew there are pigmy shrews in MY park. Mom was so excited - she thought it was sooooo cute as it is the first time she has ever seen one......I just thought it would make a nice single bite snack but you know - she wouldn't let us near it and can you believe it - she tied US to a tree to keep us away from it!
Mom took the photo on the left and found the one on the right online and she wanted to show you the cute little face. She said the little guy didn't seem at all worried about Mom watching him, he was too busy munching on a bug.
That's cool! We've never seen one either!
