My foot is looking so much better this evening - the antibiotics and Mom cleaning it every couple of hours (which I must say I do not appreciate at all) has worked wonders. The swelling and redness have gone down a lot and the bleeding has stopped - sorry to gross you out with a photo of my foot but Mom wonders if anyone has seen anything like this before. My dogtor did some smear slides to look for any infection and also took a sample of the lump to send off to have some cytology work done on it - we won't get any results back until Thursday or Friday.
Now if only I can convince Mom that a weeks rest the dogtor suggested is is NOT needed.
I hope you feel better soon, Reilly! I wish I lived by the beach! My mommy and I would take walkies there every day!
ReplyDeleteYour Dachshund friend with the POTP,
Christmas
Oh, that looks like it could be painful. I'm glad it's starting to look better.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get back on patrol soon Reilly. Maybe your mom can take you on a "Drive by" so you can at least keep an eye on things from the car.
That exactly how DunKen's used to look!
ReplyDeleteAww Reilly I hope your foot is better and you can enjoy the sand soon.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had that happen o us. Let's hope that the tests indicate what that is and how to stop it.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to get sand in that, Mr Reilly. You had better rest for awhile so that it can heal up.
ReplyDeleteOH REILLY that looks soooooo sore... and VERY UNUSUAL... we will be very much interested to find out what the tests reveal.
ReplyDeleteDARN, buddy we think SAND would NOT be good fur that... best listen to your mum ... THIS TIME.
Sending you MORE POTP and here is some POTP fur DENNY Also.... and a tad of POTP fur your MUM
She has been so worried about you boyz. Better give her an extra Kiss or two fur the good care.
Oh Mr. Reilly! that looks like a painful ouchie!! I'm so sorry it's givin' you such problems. I am glads your MOms is takin' very good care of you!!! though, I TOTALLY understand not wantin' your paws groped ~ I don't likes it either. butts sometimes we just have to lets the peeps handle our paws...I thinks it's because they are SO FABulous they can't keep their hands off of em'! ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
We never seen that before. Guess something irritated it? Hope it continued to improve.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom is taking such good care of you, Reilly. Maybe in some ways it is good that the lump burst so it could get drained a bit. We hope the tests bring back some answers and good news.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
That still looks like it hurts! We're glad it's looking better.
ReplyDeleteCammie
Oh no. Hope you get some answers soon. I'm praying for you!!
ReplyDeleteWe've never seen anything like that before. Ghostwriter, who is a nurse, suggests you do what the vet says: rest and stay out of the sand!
ReplyDeleteOh Mr. Reilly! We are sending you lots of hugs! We're glad the news is good so far! Use this as an excuse to take a nap!
ReplyDeleteReilly we are happy that it is getting better! paws crossed improvement continues
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
Hope da dogtur can get it figgered out!
ReplyDeleteReilly, it does look a bit like a bigger version of the interdigital cyst I had last year. That too involved a lot of paw washing. But Gail understands that these so-called cysts are quite common and so presumably the vet has ruled this out?
ReplyDeleteTake it easy mate, and hope it heals soon.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Dear Reilly that looks a very sore paw. I finks you should take very good care and let that heal up nicely before you get Bark Rangering again so perhaps on this occasion Mom nose bestest
ReplyDeleteGet well soon handsome fella , sending you lots of POTP

It looks very sore, Reilly. We're sending you lots of healing vibes and keeping our paws crossed.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. Lady has never seen anything like that.
ReplyDeleteOh you poor boy. That must hurt some. Sometimes we just need to stay still and let the body heal without pushing to do more. Sending healing prayers for you, Denny and your Mom.
ReplyDeleteBe a good boy and just sit and watch the clouds drift by.
Bentley P.S. check out turmeric golden paste for dogs.
That is one big owie, Reilly. We also think you may want to avoid walkies for a bit but, we agree that a park drive by, just to check and make sure the sand stealers know you are keeping and eye on things, may be in order.
ReplyDeleteSending POTP your owie heals quickly!
Reilly, just consider this a "staycation" and you and Denny can see when trouble you can get into in the house while you are both under house arrest er, I mean staycation. Oh boy, Mom says I am NOT being helpful.
ReplyDeleteDid they rule out a foxtail? Foxtail seeds can be super nasty and cause cysts that can then burst.
