I was in full dogtor mode for Mom this weekend - she had her fifth attack of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) in the last 2 months and although she really needed to go to the hospital she said going there scared her more then the pain. So with Dad's help we tucked her up in bed, gave her lots of pain and other meds and I stayed right by her side at the ready when ever she needed something and provided my soft head when ever she needed to scratch it - it took her mind off the pain. It was a ruff weekend for us all - Dweeb got uba scared cause he senses Mom pain and it frightens him - he frets and worries and that makes his tummy upset too (and peeps wonder why I call the Dweeb!) I am happy to report my EXCELLENT dogtoring skills worked and Mom is feeling better this morning. We are probably going to have a lazy week though as all the spasms Mom has leave her whole tummy feeling really bruised for a few days - that is okay - we are expecting the first 100 degree heat this summer so staying home in the air conditioning is not a bad thing.
Poor mum. We are glad she is a bit better today and we say take it easy. Sending virtual hugs her way. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly

Wow, you guys make good nurses. My dad's friend has IBS too and sympathizes with your mom. We're glad that she feels better. We don't think that we could take 100 degree weather. It's been getting up to 81 degrees up here in the Pacific Northwest and that's too hot for us already.
ReplyDeleteReilly, it was because of you that your mom recovered so quickly! Enjoy that a/c!!
