Happy Fathers Day Indeed

Can you believe that MY Dad has gone off to the movies with his daughter - leaving me - his boy - at home with the boring old Mom !!!! That is just so not right! He is MY Dad and WE should be doing things TOGETHER today. Instead the only thing I have done is wander around silly old Mom's garden. I know - she was supposed to show some of those gladioli things - but we are still waiting them for them to open up. In the meantime she MADE me go with her as she took photos of the vegetables - BORING Mom !

Okay - starting in the top left corner is the small white Japanese eggplants, then some of the basil and flat leaf parsley (Yawn). Next there is yellow banana peppers and Italian eggplants. Finally there is one of Mom prized yellow tomatoes which I must agree are VERY tasty. We also have a black tomato growing and a yellow with pink stripes - they are heirloom tomatoes (that means old - like MOM). Okay enough of the stupid old vegetables - I am going back to the door to wait for my dad to come home from the movies - stupid place it is that won't allow doggies - discrimination I say!

  1. Lovely vegetables Reilly...what does your Mom make out of the yellow eggplant? Last summer I went to a farmers market in NC and we got two heirloom tomatoes, one was purple. They were SOOOOOO good! I hope your Mom loves her tomatoes! Maybe your Dad will throw the ball with you when he comes back home!

  2. Your mom's vegetables look so good!

What is up with your dad leaving you behind on Father's Day? He has some nerve! I hope he comes home with something special for you to make it up to you!

  3. Too bad they couldn't go to a drive in movie and take you along!

    Your veggies look amazing!

  4. Reilly, in today's L.A. Times travel section there's an article about B & B's that like to have dogs visit with their humans. Maybe you should show it to your dad when he gets home :-)

  5. Hope your dad has brought you some yummy treats when he's home.

    Those tomotoes sound really yummy.

    Happy Father's Day!

  6. Hmm, it does sound like you could have picked an activity that allowed dogs.

    Nubbin wiggles,

  7. We think your veggies are great and sound very yummy....we may try a tomato just cause yours look so very good.

The movies around here won't let dogs in either, maybe we should file a dog-action lawsuit!

  8. Aw, too bad they didn't take you along, but spending time with mom isn't so bad, no? (says Finn's mom!) Hope Dad had a great day!

  9. Hope your Dog Dad did plenty of fun stuff with you.

  10. OOOOH, such yummy treats!!

    Woofs & hugs,

  11. Your garden looks beautiful, Reilly!
Bummer that you can't go to the movies too! Did your dad bring home popcorn for you?

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

  12. I must say, those veggies look nummie!! I bet you can't wait to try them. But wait till they are ready or you might get sick. My family left me for a bit too today, but they came back and all was well. Hope you had fun when Daddy got home.

    Puppy kisses,

  13. Looks like those vegetables are thriving pretty good!

  14. I bet your Dad did some nice playing with you after and really, I think you has a very important job guarding the vegetables... Although it might be a bit boring.

  15. You did't get to spend all day on Daddy's Day with your Dad? That is sad, dawg!
