Weather is warming up - but!

We made it to 48 degree yesterday and Mom said the magic words "lets go to the park"  Dog oh Dog - After much excited barking and prancing around she finally got our harnesses on and my boots and in the car we hopped.  There was not a cloud in the sky and it was so bright and sunny.

Mom says we whined all the way to the park but we were really just telling her to "drive faster - drive faster"  Anyhoo - after what seemed like 87 years we finally got there and as Mom opened the car door to attach our lead I spied a whole ginormous flock Canada Geese behind her and it was on !!!!!!!!!!

I was out of the car so fast I nearly knocked her off her feet in my rush to chase them. There was flapping, honking and hissing as they all went splashing into the lake - ah it was sooooooo satisfying. I trotted back to Mom with the BIGGEST smile on my face and she just glared at me - "What the dog" I thought - I just saved her from a pack of marauding geese and she is glaring at me.

Then she pointed to my boots - it seems that all the ice we have had has turned the MY park into a bit of a muddy quagmire. Mom shook her head and mumbled something under her breath - attached the lead and off we went.  We didn't get far though as even the main path was a squelchy mess so it ended up being a very short walk - but I least I got to tell those geese off!

  2. Ah yes, there are really five season every year ....winter, spring, summer, fall, and MUD season. Not looking forward to that. At least the snow keeps the dogs clean.

Good job protecting your mama from those geese Reilly!

  10. What??!!! NO appreciation for your brave deed in chasing off those geese! Sheesh! What's a bit of mud when you've put yourself in the line of DANGER to protect your pack.

Just because it was fun doesn't even come into it.

  14. Good work, Reilly - those geese need a good chasing now and then. And what's so bad about mud - at least you had boots on:)

  19. What are boots for, if not for marching through muddy quagmires? (And I can assure you we know all about muddy quagmires here in Scotland…)
