Growing Geese and Bumper Crop

Woo hoo - we have had a bumper crop of baby Canada Geese this year - so far there are 5 couples with 20 babies between them - 3 couple have 4 babies each - 1 couple has 5 babies (they originally had 6 but sadly one disappeared) and then one couple with 3 babies. Your can see the age difference - both of these photos were taken today and one set of babies is already fledging (getting some adult feathers) and the others are just a couple of days old. No baby ducks yet but we hoping to see some soon. Mom is surprised so many survive as there are A LOT of cats around our neighborhood but there geese are VERY protective and have no worries about chasing them off - or us and we love to race outside and bark at them :)

  2. I am pretty sure those geese can take care of themselves against the cats. They are super cute!
