People Only - Bah Humbug!

On Tuesday night we had the first ever tropical storm develop on land in Florida - right over
Jacksonville! It is very rare that a storm develops over land and this is only the second one to ever occur in the south of the USA. Of coarse the weather people got it totally wrong and only gave the storm a 10% chance of developing into something more than a rain shower - well Tropical Storm Julia fooled them all - you can read more about it here.

Anyhoo - yesterday morning Mom decided to go and see if King Neptune had been feeling generous and went over to that evil nasty Talbot Island State Park that is for "people's only" at least on the beach - we doggies are allowed on the other bush paths but not on the beach - so so wrong. She didn't find very much at all but the few shells he did find were awesome - including a giant lightning whelk and some beautifully patterned giant heart cockles. The only thing we got to enjoy from her walk on the beach was a sniff of the shells!

  16. What beautiful shells! Very lucky. Too bad you doggies weren't allowed on the beach, though. It was interesting reading about that storm. Our Jessy called today from Boca Raton and said it was raining but there was not a cloud in the sky! She also said there are iguanas everywhere and they're eating up the lawn!
