One thing Mom loves about walking at this time of year all is the wonderful smells there are, cinnamon ferns, native sages and mints, lemon balms, lemon grass, peppermint - there are just so many and you can not help but breath in deeply as you go - personally though nothing beats the smell of good pee mail, deer droppings or racoon poop and that dead bird - it was blissful ! All depends on your point of view and level of your nose we guess :) :)
I agree the smell of spring is great. Specially the smell of lilac
ReplyDeleteWe agree, the earth is rich with scents and new growth in the Spring. It's our favorite time to go on rambling walks...
ReplyDeleteMy assistant agrees with your mom - all those smells are wonderful!

ReplyDeleteI think our sense of smell and the human sense of smell are quite different, but we do all love to smell nice things.
ReplyDeleteKatie's always got her nose to the ground. I think she's one big sniffing machine. Glad you guys had a good outing...but really....a dead bird?????
