Musing On Monday #33

Today I am musing over "what takes your
peeps attention away from YOU". By far my Mom's 'crafty nature' is something I have to tolerate on a daily basis - she is always making 'something' and goes through these regular bouts of being self absorbed in what ever current thing has captured her imagination.

Yesterday I sat starring her non stop for a good fifteen minutes before she finally stopped painting and asked me what I wanted. "I want attention, cookies, walkies, car ride, a trip to the pet store - you know - the general stuff I love" and you know what she said ................

"How about a nice warm bath" WHAT THE DOG!!!!!  It is bad enough when she says "not now Reilly - I am busy Reilly or later Reilly" but what kind of inhuman thing is THAT to say!!!! "Do I want a nice warm bath!!!!!!!!!!!"

Needless to say I spent the next fifteen minutes hiding out under the kitchen table and glaring YES glaring at her from a safe distance. A bath indeed.....ba humbug!

So the question of the day is "what takes your peeps minds off of giving you 100% of their attention?"

  3. The computer, the TV, something called work . . . really we are deprived dogs. At least they don't give us attention and a bath - that would be horrid! Lee and Phod

  7. OMD OMD REILLY... do you realize what SHE did??? SHE turned the tables on YOU and got your mind off of what was IMPAWTANT to YOU and she did it with that DIRTY FOUR LETTER WORD..
You know the one we mean.. the "B" Word.

OMD we HOPE this does not get around to the Other Parents of Blogville.

  8. Oh dear Reilly, maybe you shouldn't have stared at her for so long! It's funny because to me "brush" is a trigger word to run away and hide, so is "bath" your one?
My peeps read the news papers, sleep and my mother makes cards, and crafty stuff too!

  9. Our mom has been spending time "getting healthy." Which means she leaves us to go to the gym! But her getting healthy also means a lot more walks for us, so we can't complain too much.

The biggest thing that takes mom's attention away from us is her "work." She's always leaving us to go to this "work" place, and we don't like it one bit!

  10. That is very sneaky of her to mention that 'bath' word! Our Mom comes up with all sorts of things to draw her attention away from us: making dinner (not ours...), laundry, bye-sickle-ing with Dad, reading, playing on the computer, etc. Our Mom really has her priorities messed up!

  11. It's the work thing. And then the kindle thing. She bites my ankles when I pick up the kindle. Because she wants to play play play play....

  12. I guessed it - dogs and humans speak different languagaes and they have no tails to communicate with the carnivore or feline world. You want a treat and a walk and she offered a bath.

  14. We hear ya, Reilly! We go to work with mom and dad at Crumpie's almost every single day only they don't play with us non-stop. They actually ignore us sometimes and WORK! Can you even imagine!

    Love ya lots♥

  15. A bath???? How silly was that? Typical of the Moms. Ours has been preoccupied with her back bothering her and getting plans moving for a lot of redecorating at our house. It doesn't sound like much fun to us. We think walks and playtime and treats sound much better.

  18. When mommy comes home from work , plays with us, eats, then she HAS to watch an episode of the tv soap opera she tapes called "The young and the restless". I dont know why she bothers trying to watch it--we constantly bug mommy during that show. She has to rewind scenes all the time because she cant hear what the characters say with all our barking at her. I saw we Shelties are young and restless too.

  20. A BATH???? I would have hid under the table too Reilly!!! (BTW, that's my favorite 'hiding' spot too!!)
There are soooo many thingies, butts most of all is the puter. And when she decides to 'clean'. And when she spends like 87 hours dryin' her furs.
    I could go on, butts...

  21. What takes our mom's attention away from us on weekends is her studying! She is studying part-time and has assignments & stuff, so some weekends we hardly see her 'cos she's hidden away upstairs "working". Thank dogness for dad!

  22. WTD? A bath...are you serious?! I've been warned that there's one in the forecast for me tomorrow...trying to ignore!!! Eek! Hm, what takes Domeek's attention away from me? EVERYTHING in my humble opinion!! Diner, cat siblings, exercise, work, computer, tv, housework...get my drift?! Pft!

  23. The computer. She's always on it at dinnertime so I have to get very persistent to get her off of it. Usually a few licks to the elbow, ankles, calves or nose butts so she can't type plus lots of whining gets my way. Love Dolly
