Orijen Regional Freeze Dried Dog Food

23th August 2013
Today thanks to Chewy.com  we are  reviewing Orijen's Regional Freeze Dried Dog Food. Note - this is a dog food and not a treat and what is shown is a sample bag.

The test began  with Mom trying to read the instructions - trying being the operative word as the print was so tiny that even with her glasses on it was hard to read. Mom eventually got the magnifying glass out. Hopefully on the larger bags it is easier to read.

Okay - break the pattie (which looks and smells remarkably like poop) into quarters and add 1/4 cup of warm water. Wait 3-5 minutures until softened. We waited - and waited and waited - after 20 minutes it still hadn't softened. Mom decided to try boiling water instead of warm water and we waited again and waited and waited. Another 20 minutes and only the very outside was soft - the inside was still hard.

Now in all fairness - I loved the smell - my nose was twitchin and sniffin but Mom had to take the bowls outside as the smell was making her feel queasy. It is pretty stinky but as you know we doggies love anything that is stinky.

    1. Huh. Seems like a cool concept, but they just need to work out the quirks. Orijen is supposed to be the best dogfood out there, and I keep meaning to try it, but you just never know how your dogs will react.

    3. Well you know that PEEPS have very STRANGE ideas about what smells GOOOOOOD and what smells GRRRRREAT and what "THEY" think Stinks.
We have had Orijen and WE thought it smelled FANGTASTIC... Mom... not so much.
It is very much GOOD that you are honest about the pawduct. No sense in having somethingy on the market.. if our PEEPS won't buy it fur us.
Everybuddy KNOWS that THEY won't let US do our OWN ordering from Chewy.com. Wish we COULD though... Ernie would buy NOTHING butt SNACKS and TOYS. OKAY... neither would I (Frankie Furter), since we are being HONEST about stuffs today.

    9. Thank you for your review. I love watching you eat, you are so tidy and polite. It made Mommy smile real big. I like the freeze dried treats but I am kind of a wet dog food supper girl. I know what you mean about the smell, Mommies don't get it.
