We loved sharing our favorite duckies with you and we think one of the reason there are so many here at the moment is because it is duck hunting season and our duckies KNOW they are safe at MY park. Here is Mom's favorite duck - Mr Tuffy.
Charlie asked if we have ever seen the beavers - the answer is YES. If we go to MY park right at sunrise we see them doing their lap of the lake - we usually see two of them and by the way they play together makes us think they are a pair. We have been able to get a couple of pictures of them but none of them very good as they very fast and quite shy. This is the best one we have and earlier this year we counted 5 of them in their little cove and three were much smaller so we are guessing they were babies.
We were also asked about my boots. YES I wear boots when ever I go for a walk - I have arthritis in my front paws that has caused my toes to become a deformed and the pads to spread. The boots help support my toes and also stops stones and pebbles from hurting the soft inside of the pads. They are special orthopedic boots with gel liners inside and I love them. I don't wear them around home but we never go out without them and Mom even keeps a spare pair in the car for me.
As a side note - Mom just finished making two 11" x 8.5" - 2015 calendars on Shutterfly and Vistaprint - using full sized photos on each. Shutterfly were charging $21.99 that included a 50% off coupon and postage and Vistaprint cost $10.99 including a 50% off coupon and shipping, Vistaprint also had a much nicer collections of backgrounds to work with. We went with the Vistaprint one so if you are looking to make your own calendar for next year you might want to do checking of your own to find the best deals.

I tried to get Pip to wear boots and he HATED them and couldn't walk in them very well.

Reilly..glad you got to see the beaver family. Love your mom's favorite duck too. Hope your foljs catch up on Christmas cards soon!
ReplyDeleteI love beavers and they are very important to the ecosystem. Out West there are reintroduction programs for beavers because they are so crucial to the health of the environment. Bravo for giving the ducks a safe haven too (although duck hunters are also some of the best conservationists I must say. They get it - no wetlands, no ducks to hunt.)
ReplyDeleteThose ducks better stay there so you can keep them safe
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
I never saw a Beaver (just Justin Beaver, but not sure if that counts)
ReplyDeleteWe saw the offers of vistaprint and next year we order our cards there, that's for sure.

We think the beavers are very interesting. We'd love to see them. Great that the ducks know where to stay during hunting season.

ReplyDeleteThank Dawgness you two have your peeps under control... We are thinking of CHECKING the Signatures on those 3 cards... just to be SURE mom didn't SNEAK and send them HERSELF.
Great Shopping fur the Calendar.
Those are some very smart duckies.
We aren't seeing many ducks around here this time of year. It is nice to have a break from all the duck and goose poo on the walkways. Pretty creatures, but messy.
ReplyDeleteShutterfly had a "Free" calendar coupon code Thanksgiving weekend. SO, I got mine for just the cost of shipping...like $5. I should've shared the code with you! You didn't even have to buy anything else. Quite the deal.
ReplyDeleteI love Mr. Tuffy! He's such a handsome duck.
So thats Mr Tuffy...we had trouble seeing him before....... Glad them booties work so well, getting stuff in the pads really hurts.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you guys are way ahead!
