We finally got some warmer temps - a bright sunny 50 degrees which meant time to go to MY park and get lots of fresh air - at least for Mom. For us it meant lots of sniffing and pee mail to read and leave.
We also had a nice big bag of ducky food so off we went in search of Mr & Mrs Tuffy. Yes - his mate is all white and they have been together for the last three years and look at their baby - isn't he so cute. They only had the one this year and he still following them around so we think he is going to be a permanent resident too.
Here we are watching those duckies but can you believe Mom said NO chasing - what gives with that ???? ....a good chasing would give them some needed exercise we think.
Now we were on the other side of MY lake today and sadly noticed the beavers have been busy here too. The red arrow shows where the beaver lodge is and where all the damaged trees we have shown before are. Mom was a bit sad to see they are chomping trees on the other side of the lake too. We sure wish there was something they could put either on or around the trees to protect them - we counted 23 trees trees that have been damaged now and most of them have been chomped right around which sadly means the trees will die.
Card Count US - 31 cards & 9 E-cards (gawoof gawoof - we got 11 in the mail today!) Peeps 0
I'd noticed that number count cropping up more often and wondered if there was a clever reason behind it. Let me know if it's on mine please !
ReplyDeleteThe weather still looks great for your walkies you handsome boys

Live journal had it too and it asked for my ss#. I left it blank and it still went through . I see yours has one now too but it's at least the easy number one. The word ones are very hard to read.
ReplyDeleteWe have ours set up to NOT use the word verification thing and yet it just started popping up today on our blog and nearly everyone else's. You have it now, too. Must be something weird going on.
ReplyDeleteWhoa I ran right back to my blog to check my settings - word verification is definitely off. However if for some reason blogger is putting it up there for visitors please let me know and I'll contact them ASAP! And, here's some irony for you - word verification is on here at your blog too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the damage the beavers are causing. You might have to explore some options, such as having them relocated. You're right, if they girdle the trees (as your photo shows) the trees will die. :(
Firstly checked our comment settings and nothing has changed here. Drats no duckie chasing. Kind of thing my peeps would say. Yes there must be something they can put on the tree to stop the beavers doing all that damage. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We checked to be sure, but our word verification is still off - thanks for the heads up! (We are seeing it on your blog though!)
ReplyDeleteIf the beaver's are chewing trees on the other side of the lake does that mean that there is a second lodge? Or do they move the trees that far?

On the comments matter... the current spate of changes made by Blogger apply only to those blogs which have popout comments pages - as you do here - and has not relevance to whether you have moderation on or not. I have altered my comments to "EMBED" instead of popout and this has solved the robot numbers thing. It is Google trying to be helpful in eliminating spammers (for which, thanks to them)... but it is VERY frustrating if like you and me, those things are almost impossible to get right first time round! So do please now embed your comments (mod can still be on) and then you will not be adding to the frustrations.
Cheers! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
YEP Blogger is being a big old GREEN GRINCH fur some reason... and this has happened before... Don't do anythingy to your settings... They WILL get it fixed... Like they did the last time... butt it took about 3 days... this is day 2. TODAY there are even MORE of us being INFECTED with this crazy thingy than there were Yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWe Know that you are sad about the damage the beavers are doing... butt it is just the way they are...
What an absolutely beautiful baby! And that poor tree. Somehow I never realized that's how those little boogers take down trees. This piggy is so naive. I need to find a documentary on my television to watch to learn more. Ya'll take care and have an awesome day my friends. XOXO - Bacon
ReplyDeleteI have to do that robot thing since yesterday too, fortunately today I've got just numbers to prove I'm not a robot...yay wordpress loves me! butt yesterday I had to battle with "zugfuchts afgul" and other crazy words.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the trees they were there for many years and Justin and his gang killed them in zilch :o)
easy Rider
WE have never seen a beaver here and we live right by a river...boy they do a lot of damange.

Moms could be boring! No chasing ugh
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Oh dear, those beavers do look rather destructive. We hope some sensitive way of keeping them in check can be worked out.
ReplyDeleteFor example, a terrier could have a lot of fun chasing them away.
Just a suggestion…
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Silly Beavers....maybe they need some rawhide!!
ReplyDeleteAunty YAM is totally right about Embedding...Mama is giving it one more day to see if Blogger fixes things before she changes to embed...

Yes, we noticed it has changed too.

We noticed that Robot thingy, too. Very annoying. We've turned our off, but don't know if it's still doing anything.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you can't find some Beaver food, too.
too bad the beavers chew up the trees like that.

Stupid word thingy - so annoying
Crikey ..... we noticed the roboty thing too. What a pain!! Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteNow about those Beaver blokes. They are only doing what they have to do to stay warm and cosy and raise their families. No trees chomped means no home and no babies and THEN ...... no more beavers. Are they any worse than humans. They cut down trees with chain saws for goodness sake. Maybe if they had to use their teeth we would have more trees for the beavers. Crikey sorry ..... I hate to see those beautiful trees chomped too but I'd also hate to see those beautiful beaver blokes moved on. Who knows what the answer is??
Man those beavers sure are destructive.
ReplyDeleteI love their baby duck! I've never seen a black and white duck. His name should be oreo :)
I just read about a font designed specifically for dyslexics. Not sure if it really works, but the letters are supposed to be drawn in a way that helps people decipher which one is which. Thought it was interesting, but maybe its just a gimmick.
I woulda wanted to chase dem duckies too!
ReplyDeleteYep, been to lots with it....kinda wondered if it was being added because of all the spam. most have if...have ours turned off.....but don't know if its automatic
ReplyDeleteCould you let us know please!
The Mad Scots
yep you are right, we have ours turned off too but others are telling me they have to do the verification. I think Blogger was getting an enormous amount of spam from all of us and maybe they had to do this? Who knows?
ReplyDeleteLeave it to beavers! BOL! Seems that only 1 type is getting wacked for word verification. See below.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
PS - To get a good explanation of what is going on with the Blogger Word verification thing, and how to get around it, check out Auntie YAM's post: http://inimaynaelcammeno.blogspot.com/
We are seeing that word verification everywhere, right here now too. We just ignore it and our comment still seems to go through.
ReplyDeleteBad beavers.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh no - that's awful about the trees. Those beavers must be stopped!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
We can't get word verification off ours, either! It's very annoying - we don't want it there, but I guess Blogger is forcing it on all of us. Grrrr!
ReplyDeleteOh. Beaver overload!
Cammie!
I've noticed that my comments are going through without putting in the number verification.
