Warm Before The Cold

Today has been a lovely 57 degrees and tomorrow it is supposed to drop back to 37 so Mom (who is feeling better) said off to the park we go - let's get some sunshine and you have never seen 2 doggies move so fast. We whined, we barked, we ran around like crazy things and as soon as she opened the car door we jumped in so fast we almost flew out the other side. Now one of the thing we noticed straight away when we got to the MY lake was how low the water was - the arrow shows where the water level normally is. We have NEVER seen it this low in all the years we have lived here. It seems odd but our State is actually in a drought - we have hardly had any rain and no snow at all. Of coarse I convinced the Dweeb it is all those darn poopy Canada Geese that have drunk all the water - either that or all the fish ....bawwwahhh he is so gullible:)

  1. LOL at the geese and fish reasoning. Hope you do get some rain and don't have a drought this year. We are in for warmer weather at the end of the week and may be an early Spring. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. I think we've been getting your rain. Usually, we're in drought.

Just don't go telling Denny there's a monster in that lake or something or you'll never get back there.

  5. We have the same weather thing going on here too. It was 41 when Mom got up this morning and we are already down to 31 - but we do love the cold, Mom not so much. Not much rain here either and no snow. We could really use some snow, at least one big storm before sprng sets in.

Bet you two had a great run at the park today.

  16. All the goose poo would fill the lake. It's sad when water levels go down hopefully you'll get some moisture soon. Looks pretty in any case.

Glad mum is feeling better..i see you have the same problem as us..i was about to do a post about the lack of rain we have had in our part of Victoria and how low our dam is..scary low..maybe our resident tortoises are drinking it all or the roos who have left footprints all around it..they too are relying on it :)loves Fozziemum xx

  21. Hi Reilly and Denny, it's been a very mild winter up here in Vancouver. The ski season on the local mountains has been abysmal and there's little snow up there for the summer. We hope that water rationing won't be too severe this summer. It's about 50 degrees as well up here with rain on the way for tomorrow. Your mom should ask for a real heated jacket for her birthday.

  23. Oh no, draughts are terrible! We are in the midst of a heatwave & a few degrees from breaking the 1973 record for the hottest summer. We are feeling it, that much we can tell you.

  26. I'm glad your mom feels better and she immediately took the chance for a walk with you. I think the fishies drank all the water... i wouldn't use them for a bbq, that could end with soup :o)

  29. Im glad you are feeling better. Im so over winter. I much rather be sweating then freezing. I know most people dont agree with me but I hate being cold. Fingers are all cracked. Its raining all the time. Im over it.

  30. You don't know cold! This morning it was -26C and it got to a high of -18C, that's without windchill. 32 degrees F equals 0 degrees C and at -40 the two scales match up, so -18C is awfully cold.

Glad it got warmer where you are maybe you could send some up North.

  31. That is a pretty good story about the water. We have lots and lots of snow and it is waaaaaaaay cold here.
