Shrimp Boats

Today at the beach we saw something different - the shrimp boats were out trawling just off shore and we got to watch them - well at least Mom did - we were to busy busy sniffing :)  Looks like they were getting a good catch given all the birds flying around. These shrimp when caught go straight to the "Safe Harbor Seafood Company" and will be on the menu by lunch time. Safe Harbor Seafood Company also has a restaurant right there on the dock where the shrimp boats drop off their catch and it is one of Mom's favorite places to go for lunch and luckily for her - it is only a 5 minute drive away.

    Kind of rang a bell in Mom's distant memory of a song called 'THE SHRIMP BOATS ARE COMING'. Is she losing her mind or was there really a song like that???

    How cool is that!!! Mom can usually only get frozen shrimp here, must be great to have access to so much fresh fish. You two look pawsitively wonderful on that beach.

    When we lived on the North Sea in Germany, the restaurant on the beach across from our house got the just caught shrimp and the employees would sit at tables peeling it for the kitchen. Fresh is the best.
