One of Mom's most favorite flowers - the Oriental Lily - this one was called "Stargazer" and has the most beautiful perfume - especially at sunrise and sunset.
Those are very beautiful! We used to have lots of Asian lilies in our garden. But one year we were invaded by Red Lily Beetles. They're not a native species. They destroyed most of our beautiful lilies! Ghostwriter couldn't keep up with picking those little buggers off the plants, so she eventually had to just dig them all up. The only ones left are the white ones by the back door, which she watches diligently for any sign of those pests. Make sure you watch for them too. They look so pretty, and squeak when you catch them, but be fooled. They're evil!

Beautiful! We have lily's growing in our yard, but they are more orange/russet colored. I'd love to plant more varieties.
