Taking back MY blog !

I am taking back MY blog ! I don't get what gives with these young whipper snappers hogging the space on MY blog. I am the Cowspotdog and this is MY bloggie after all.

It is still so hot and humid here but I did agree to the Mom taking few photos yesterday. Here I am doing my patriotic pose and then just doing my inquisitive look and thinking "why are you making me sit here in the hot sun MOM!"

This weather is also making my allergies go crazy and I am not a happy doggie at the moment. When I am not scratching I am rubbing my face on anything with corners on it. (Note from Mom - Reilly is now having allergy shots ever four weeks and is on antihistamines but they really don't seem to be helping much, we had to stop the prednisone - even though they helped a little, as they were making him act like he was starving and he was putting on too much weight. We have tried different allergy and hot spot shampoos and I have been doing patch tests on him to see if it is specific plant or grass but nothing so far - sigh, I hate seeing him so uncomfortable)

Hey MOM ! Are you taking over my blog too! Okay, I give up - I will share - but ONLY sometimes! Mom took the Den-myster (Dad has already nic-named him) to the vets this morning for a check up and we are pleased to say he got the okay, ears, eyes, heart, lungs, legs - everything. He had a good going over and was so well behaved. The vet did notice that the Denny has a few sores on him (given that he was a litter of seven and pups like to play fight it is to be expected. He said he will check on those again in two weeks).

  3. Great to see you, Reilly. We are sorry to hear about those allergies. Wish the meds were helping. We sure wish you could find a good remedy. Could it be food-related at all?

We will always think of this blog as yours and Mom's, but we have enjoyed meeting "IT" and now Denny too.

  7. Sharing sucks, doesn't it Reilly! We have to do it with everything - even mom and dad!!

We don't know if you follow browndogcbr. He's a beautiful retreiver. A couple of months ago his mom went through the whole story of his allergies, and what they ended up doing. I think it's browndogcbr.blogspot.com. You'll have to go back a ways, but it's worth it. His photos are beautiful. AND he's an ONLY CHILD!!!

  12. Hi Y'all,

Got your message about how miserable allergies are. I had a blood test for my allergies and they found out I'm allergic to grass and just about everything else. I started with a shot every day. Now I'm down to once a month.

I also have major food allergies. Most meats, grains and vegies and fruits (and I love watermelon and apples) sigh. It leaves me very little I can eat.

The most important thing my Human learned is that you have to keep seeking and if one vet isn't being proactive enough, find another.

Part of my problem was a major anal gland infection. Once I saw a specialist, surgeon and had that cleared up, life became more bearable.

    Find the sumary here: http://browndogcbr.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

You'll find the posts about the allergies within a week. It starts with the post "I Promised". You can just click on March and work your way forward, or just read the summary and get some ideas.

My Human and I are glad to help any way we can. You can email us too at browndogcbratlive.com

    Y'all come back now,

  16. Happy 4th - a bit late - hope you had a good time.

Sorry to hear about the allergies - I suffer from them too - worse on my paws - D has some suggestions for things - doesn't cure them sadly but makes my life a little less 'itchy'.

  19. Allergies are yucky! We finally found some relief for Maizey's eyes by using Animal Apothecary Detox and and Immunity boost from Herbsmith. Today she starts a natural antihistamine called Clear AllerQi, also from Herbsmith. I hope it helps her. Just with the detox and immunity boost she was able to cut down to one or two antihistamine pills a day and she hasn't needed any eye ointment for two days now. Maybe it would help you too. Hope you feel better soon, and we're glad you got your blog back!:)
