Do you ever wonder why the peeps go so crazy over flowers - they smell kind of like that evil shampoo stuff to us - not a nice dead fish, rotting squirrel or even squished skunk smell (although we must admit they pong a bit to much even for us).The Mom is so happy at the moment though.... as she has so many of her favorite lilies blooming (notice how all the flowers are her favorite). Now in particular these bright pink Asian/Oriental lilies's which are commonly called Stargazer Lilies smell heavenly (at least Mom says they do) - not all the Asian lilies's have a perfume. Mom actually bought a variety pack of these lilies but as luck would have it - they turned out all to be the same. We do have one red, orange and yellow lilies too in another part of the garden.
Mom says the prettiest things in her garden are her two boys though - geesh Mom - stop embarrassing us will you.
Our Mom can't keep a cactus alive, so we are spared all these flower thingies. Seriously, our Mom has such a toxic thumb she probably shouldn't be allowed near our lawn! But your flowers look beautiful, boys!

ReplyDeleteIf they smell good… then I would eat them. I like to eat nice smelling flowers. I leave the stinky ones I leave alone. Now all mom plants are the stinky ones.

ReplyDeleteReilly my Momz loves lilies too...We have a huge clump that was here when we moved in that's a pretty pink (not as gorgeous as those Stargazers) but they don't have as nice a scent as the white ones that grow wild in the alley next to the house...Just one or two of those puts that scent all through our cottage

OMD!!!!!!! Mum could NOT believe her EYES!!!! Those oriental lilies are her VERY BEST flower of ALL TIME!! When she used to work in the city - she used to buy a big bunch of those from the Adelaide Central Markets flower stalls all the time when they were in season!
