Cowspotcat

Mom was having a chuckle when she spotted this guy sitting of the rocks just a few feet from where we were sitting - personally I don't see any likeness at all - it is a C.A.T after all and we all know I don't like cats!

There are about 20 or so feral cat that live on the Mayport base over near the breakwater. A lot of people that fish from there give the cats fish they don't want so they are all well fed (we have also seen a lady that takes a bag of cat food out and feed them on weekends). There is also a RV park across the road so they have plenty of water and shade. We have seen 4 cats that have this cowspot pattern and it is almost identical on all of them.

Well, there will be plenty more, if there's no TNR work going on in the area. Glad to see you both out and about on the beach again! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. Hopefully all these people feeding the cats, took them in to be fixed. There are lots of programs out there to contain the feral population of cats.

While in the park on holiday a mini peep said to his Dad, "Oh look, that dog looks like a cow" So could I please officially apply to be an honorary member of the CowspotDog Club?

  15. Cowspot cats.....hmmmmmmm. We used to have feral orange cats in our 'hood, until Marmalade moved out. Now most of them are black.

We have a friend who used to live in RI and she was part of a group that fed feral cats. They'd have them spayed and then released and then fed them. (She lives in FL now.)

  26. From mom's personal experience stray cats and dogs are known to run rampant around military bases as they are left behind from the families when they move. It's good to see that these cats are well taken care of, sort of. Love Dolly
