The funny sculpture

Some of you asked about the funny sculpture yesterday - according to the sign it was actually meant to be a bird - it sure didn't look like a bird to us !  We were at MY Cowspotdog Arboretum and Gardens and took a trial we hadn't been on before called the Live Oak Trail. Along the way we came across an open grove where lots of trees had been removed and there was a sign up explaining that this was a grove of Camphor Trees that are an invasive tree from Asia and they are being eradicated from MY park. Even the stump of the tree had a very strong smell and Mom said it actually smelled nice to her. We kept walking and came across this bridge that leads to the Rosemary Trail but for some reason this is the ONLY trail in MY park where doggies are not allowed so we didn't go that way. We did discover this odd looking lichen which we found out is called "Christmas Lichen" due to it red and white colors - pretty cool huh!

We went on a bike ride !

Most of you saw Mom's new bike recently - well Dad decided to buy us a little bike trailer so we could go with them on their Sunday morning bike rides and we got to test it out yesterday. We rode as far as Big Talbot Island and then got out to have a sniff and walk around the park before riding back and guess what - we LOVED it. Mom also included a short video - she apologizes that it was a little shaky but she was trying to hold the camera and ride at the same time ;)

Wordless Wednesday - What Denny Saw

You have got to be dogging us!

Can you believe Mom says THIS is our new ride - what the dog! Where is the back seat, the air-conditioning and the floor for Denny to lay on?  This is Mom's new Beach Cruiser - it is bike made specifically for riding on the beach as well as the road. Mom totally loves it as it has no gears and a back peddle brake - all the things she grew up with :)  And check out the fancy paint work and trim. Now we do have to question Mom's sanity as there is no way either us would fit in that basket or on that rack on the back - but Mom says not to worry - she us getting us a special doggie trailer that will attach to the bike. Personally I think an air conditioned doggie RV would be much better but sometimes you just have to nod a lot and say "okay Mom - what ever you say Mom :)"

What can we say - it is a beautiful 70 degrees here today with bright sunny blue skies and a gentle breeze. We hit the beach and watched the dolphins playing in the surf - life is soooooo tough :)

There we were walking along the beach when we spotted something yellow in the water - Mom went over to get it and it was a tennis ball which got Denny all excited as he LOVES his tennis balls - Mom chuckled when she saw it though as it was a "Wilson" brand tennis ball

Most the days Katie and her Mom were here were bright and sunny. Katie's Mom Miss Dawn was worried how Katie would react to the sounds of the waves - but she took it all in her stride and just like me - she wanted to sniff along the high tide mark where all the best smells are - she's a girl after my own heart :)

A trip to MY beach

Not every day is sunny

While Katie was visiting our Moms decided to get up very early and we all headed down to the beach to watch the sun rise over the ocean - there was just one problem a big old sea fog rolled in everywhere looked dark and grey and it was a chilly 50 degrees (we know you are laughing but it was cold for here in Florida).  Miss Dawn took this wonderful photo of Mom and us as we strolled along.

When Katie Came To Town

OMG - My most beautiful little girl friend the Princess Katie came all the way from Michigan to visit MEEEEEE here in Florida. We and the Moms have been having just the best time for the last four days - going to the beach visiting my parks and just getting to know each other. And guess what else - Princess Katie's Mom has given us her blessing and after 9 years of knowing each other and 6 years of dating - Katie and I are now officially engaged!

Happy Birthday Mom

Today we are celebrating 4 special birthdays here in blogville. First are our buddies Stanley and Murphy - they are having their 5th birthday. Then there is Lassie and Benji's Mom - Teresa  today and finally there is our Mom today - Happy Birthday to all of you.

The Great Florida Turtle

As you may have noticed we haven't been around much the last month or so. Mom has been trying to pretend she is the Great Florida Turtle - basically pulling herself inside her shell and hiding from the world. Well we told her - enough is enough - we have parks to take care of, places to go and things to sniff and beaches to patrol. It has been a slow process but I think we are slowly dragging her out of her hibernation. Yesterday we headed to the beach - it was windy and cold and we loved it and for some reason there was lots of nice stinky crabs that had washed up - pure heaven :)

Willfull Wednesday

NO - I don't want my picture taken - I am going to hide behind this tree trunk where you can't see me - it is way to nice to waste time taking pictures!!!!! NOT that we are bragging or anything - but we heard on the news last night that Florida is the only State in the WHOLE USA that doesn't have snow at the moment - they even had snow on the volcano in Hawaii. Today it is a beautiful sunny 70 degrees - perfect for a little beach walkies :)

Casa Felice Sole

Mom decided the front of our new house looked a little plain so she sent Dad on the hunt for something to hang above the garage and he found Mr Chubby Cheeks (as she likes to call the sun)  She love it so much she has now called our house Casa Felice Sole (which is Italian for House of Happy Sun) It doesn't show up well in the photo but our house is a pretty sunny yellow color hense the sun theme.  Personally I think Casa Cowspotdog sounds much better and don't I look so much better sitting out the front?????.

Dogervising

We have been busy helping the Mom decorate and yesterday she finished the final touch - a new painting for our wall. It is made up of six panels with spaces in between and the flowers on the painting match the flowers on the cushions. The paint is a mixture of flat and metallic so is has these splashes of shine which sadly don't show up on the photo. The center of the flowers are also painted in gold metallic paint and some of the flowers have crystals in the middle which shine and sparkle in the light at night time. We dogervised the whole painting and made sure Mom got it just right.
