Smile for the new camera :) |
For some reason Mom has gone EVEN MORE photo crazy since we moved to Florida - she is always snapping away at all the different plants and birds and scenery we see. Sadly for us - it also means she has lots more places to pose us in - sigh! And do you know - we don't even get treats for all that work!
Of coarse Mom in all her befuddled wisdom decided she needed a better camera but Mom isn't into all this fancy camera stuff and pretty much just wanted a point and shoot camera with a few extra goodies. She also didn't want to pay a years worth of treats for one and most importantly it had to be light because Mom has the arthritis is her fingers and can't hold heavy things for very long. So began the great hunt - she researched, she read reviews and watched heaps of YouTube videos - she visited stores to pick up and hold the cameras and she even stopped people at the park with fancy cameras to ask them questions. But finally she found the perfect one - referred to as a 'bridge' camera it bridges the gap between a point and shoot and a fancy camera. What Mom got was a Canon Powershot SX60HS with 65x Optical Zoom. It only weighs 22 ounces and take awesome pics. Now Mom is still learning the ins and outs of this camera but she found the most excellent tutorials on YouTube that show exactly how to use this specific camera. So without further ado - here are a few it the pics Mom has taken using it.

that are great photos, your mom picked a super cam! and I love that it is as light as a feather ... and now probably all birds wait till you come to the beach with your mom to take a photo :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Before you know it, though, you'll be wanting to upgrade to a DSLR and a whole bag full of lenses. Once you have the photo fever, it doesn't go away!
ReplyDeleteHeard good things about that camera. Enjoy! OK. ..if not enjoy at least humor your mom.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!!
ReplyDeleteNo treats for all your posing? Wouldn['t happen here. No treat, No cooperation, that's our motto. Glad the new camera is working out!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new camera! Of course I wouldn't know about good photos since I use my iphone6 (wink)

Joey dog here. The Yum Yum Coalition Rule Book clearly states that doggies posing for the purpose of photography are to be paid two doggie treats per picture! Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I'm on my second Canon Powershot and I love it. But it doesn't have the features of yours…now I may need an upgrade to get that zoom!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new camera. Learning is always tough in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! We can't wait to see all of the fun pictures she takes...especially ones of you two!!

Those are great pictures! New cameras are sooooo much fun!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always beautiful, but that's because you two are beautiful. Mom has had a Canon powershot for many years and loved it. But she just got a new Canon GX 7 or something like that and it is pretty nice too. Also a point and shoot with a few extras. She is still learning:)

Yay! We love a new flashy beast! Can't wait for even more photos :D
ReplyDeleteFun! I'm glad that we'll be seeing even more of you two!
ReplyDeleteGREAT photos! Our dad has an SX60! Mom loves it! She used to have an SX50 and ... um ... there was a little kayaking incident and ... let's just say it had to be replaced. She moved to the Canon 70D and encouraged Dad to get the SX60 - the upgrade to the 50 - so she could borrow it. HA woo. Anyway, your mom is going to LOVE it - but you boys better get ready to do lots of posing!!!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
It sounds like your mom made a great choice, can't wait to see all of your new pictures. My mom isn't kidding when she says she brought the big camera, its a real honker and hurts her neck. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteWell it definitely takes lovely photos :) Ya'll look so great on the beach.
