Oh My Dog - one of things with living in a perpetually warm area is you REALLY notice when the temperature drops below normal. I know many of you are going to laugh at this but the 58 degrees we had today had Mom was rugged up like a polar bear! We furbabies of coarse LOVED the cool and all but galloped all over the beach we were enjoying it so much. Even Dweeb spread his paws and moved at least four feet away from Moms feet!!! The other "cool" thing is we found a whole new boardwalk to take us across the dunes to MY beach and it is super long. We also got to watch the USS Mason leaving Mayport Navy Base today. As you can see in the photo - the seas were pretty choppy and the ship was passing behind the breakwater that we were climbing on the other day :) This ship is actually stationed out of Norfolk and was just visiting us on its travels.
I'm glad that modern ships have tools what cover the heavy sea... I just imagine my momma on board of USS Mason... bet they all had a good laugh when she would feed the fishies with her lunch :o)
ReplyDeleteLOL. We're supposed to hit 61 on Friday, and we'll all be out in shorts, and the dogs will be seeking shade. Too funny how we get used to certain temps.
ReplyDeleteLove the boardwalk and all the greenery around it.
Mom remembers the cool days that she thought was so cold when she and dad lived in Orange Park. Then they moved to Tennessee and she wishes for those cool Florida winters! BOL!!!! We gots our Christmas card, y'alls was the furst one we gots!! We were so excited!!!!!!

It looks beautiful, even if it was cold.
ReplyDeleteEven though you don't have Christmas decorations at your house, maybe you can get creative with your picture with lights! We are flexible and we would love for you to participate!
At least you have got a bit of sun, it is like 30 Days of Night here :)

SHE understands that COLD temperature! SHE'd be rugged up, too. BUT, we'd love to be on that beach....
ReplyDeleteWe understand your Mom's aversion to cold weather. It dropped into the 30's here the other night and I thought our Mom was going to freeze to death taking us out for our bedtime potty break! BOL! That bridge and the ship are super cool!
ReplyDeleteTemperature is all relative. These days here, it would feel warm, but a month ago 58 was cold.
ReplyDeleteWe wish we were there walking with you! BTW, we got your card today, thanks!!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
BUTT mom won't let us open it until after she does housework. She is trying to make us help!
ReplyDeleteIt's windy here today and 45 degrees...if it wasn't raining outside, we would be doing zoomies!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile...Mama is shivering by the fire in the fireplace!

You guys take the BEST walks!!! I'd love to walk the Cowspotdog Beach with you - and 58 is chillier than it was here!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
That sounds like the same weather we have been having. Mom says she much prefers it to the super heat or super cold:) Nice new boardwalk - how does Denny feel about walking on that? Lightning might balk at going very far:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
