5 Minutes

As we mentioned yesterday - we have had a lot of rain and warm weather - perfect combination for those evil Mosqitosaurus's. BUT - it has also made all our plants grow like crazy (check out the size of those coleus leaves and Mom grew those from seed !!!)  Now to enjoy these plants Mom has to be inside looking out the window or has to cover herself in bug spray - then go our and fog the deck. There is also a bug zapper thing plugged in on the deck too but it just can't cope with the amount of them. And yes - we do have lots of bug repellant plants in pots all over our deck too. Mom also makes her own herbal bug spray too - that she sprays around our doggie door, the main back door and anywhere those biters can get in.

Mom is nothing but brave though and after making  this wonderful little corner on the deck with comfy seats and lots of plants she says she will enjoy it even if for only a few minutes........but there is just one other problem - there seems to be a chair shortage - hey Mom you can sit there on the hard deck - that will be okay with us  :) :)

  1. It must be a sheltie thing. Whenever we see our mommy headed towards a sofa, the bed, or even an outdoor chair, we always hop on before her,

  2. We seem to have a shortage of chairs in the house . . . funny how that works! Hope those bad bugs go away soon.

  3. You guys are too cute! We go through gnat season here in AZ - I'm not sure which is worse. The horses get chewed up something fierce by them, and then rub themselves raw trying to scratch all the itches.

  10. Well, I guess that explains why Ma's plants are strugglin' this year...we are dryer than a popcorn fart!
Maybe she should send them to your most FABulous garden, so they can grow big and strong like yours!
Oh, and your Moms DID put those chairs there for you right?! So, what's her problem?

  13. OK, we have to ask . . . if the zapper is on the deck, doesn't that draw the bugs TO the deck?

  21. Oh no, mosquitosaurus's sound a hundred times worse than the disgusting midges we have here! Well, at least you have a big biodiversity there, from the coleus to the mosquitos to the shelties! You two definitely deserve your thrones, humans should always be sat on the floor. Always!

  23. Hey! You two have your own chairs on the porch so you can enjoy the flowers and plants?! How cool is that? Your mom should have put a chair out there for herself too. And oh, the mosquitasaurus by my house are horrible too. We also have those stupid no-see-ums that bite real hard and then itch and itch. Stay safe from those buggies!

  27. GRRRRRR! How frustrating that those bugs don't allow you to enjoy your arooootiful deck. We're sure one of you did the gentledoggly thing and gave up your seat for your mom, right?
