A visit to one of MY far away parks

It was such a beautiful day and Mom said she needed some sunshine and time outdoors so we headed off to one of MY far away parks called Jacksonville State Park to do the Tunstall Riverwalk.  This path actually follows where the White River and the Black River meet (and no it doesn't become the Grey River) it just becomes continues on as the White River. Jacksonville is a tiny town of about 300 population and is about 40 minutes from where we live. We were surprised that on such a beautiful day - there was no-one there but us.

We didn't walk the whole length as even though it wasn't really hot is was very humid and Mom was worried about us getting overheated.  She also said that even though MY mind  willing to keep walking she could see my leggies were hurting and she didn't want ME to overdo it - personally I don't think she wanted to over do it because really - I was feeling just fine. Mom's can be such worry-warts sometimes.

  1. Super duper that you and Mom were able to get out and visit a faraway park. No matter that the walk was short, Gail and I are sure your mom was just being sensible, and we loved seeing the pictures.

PS from Gail - what would Bertie know about being sensible?

  7. It looks like a lovely place to walk. So cool that you had it all to yourselves. I like your booties. I am looking into some for Bentley to avoid the hot asphalt.

  12. That sounds like SO much fun! I've been to one of the far away parks here and there's something called the Big Blue River. It's not really that big and it's more the color of muddy water, not blue. We need to talk to whoever names the rivers!

  13. Looks like a fun outing. It is awful hot around here today, so we haven't been able to do much since this morning. Mom still makes us walk in the heat but shorter walks and she makes sure we don't overheat too. None of us are summer fans, too warm to have fun.

You guys watch over your Moms and make sure she is takin' care!
