In Search of Color - Part 1

You would not believe the adventure we have had - Mom was determined to find some of those Fall colors everyone keeps talking about and I am glad to say - we did!  Along the way we also discovered some pawsome other things too.  Our adventure began in Hardy - a small town just over an hour east of us.  This is where we were a couple of weekends ago when we came across the Indian pow-wow. After such a long drive the first thing we did was go and check out the park and leave some pee mail.

Hardy is a town with a population of about 800 and there isn't a lot there except for some junk antique stores. The Spring rivers also runs though the area and it is very popular with the kayak and canoe crowds during summer. Now one of Mom's pet peeves about this area that the river frontage is all privately owned - so the average passerby or tourist can't really enjoy the beauty of river except for this one small park that we discovered our last trip there. Now even though it is only a small park - it is beautifully kept and YES - I have decided to claim it as mine. I shall rename it the Hardy Cowspotdog Park I think.  Here you can see some of the houses on the river and this pretty gazebo they built in the park.

One of the things we love about this park is it has an almost old world Victorian feel to it. There are old fashioned drinking fountains, old fashioned street lamps and seating and it just makes it such a pretty place to be. And across the river there was another house perched up on the side of cliff - and yes look - some fall colors. What a wonderful view they must have.

We continued on our wander down the river edge looking for more color and then headed back along the leafy path. Tomorrow we will show you some interesting things we found in the little town itself including an English Pub!

  5. Love this park!!!!! I love everything 'old fashioned'. What a fun place to visit, and beautiful colors!

I find the best fall foliage comes from maple trees. Our oak tress are just now starting to change, but they're not nearly as pretty as the maples.
