Mom is doing the Ambrosia happy dance!

Mmmm Ambrosia Apples
Mine - and yours is mine too Dweeb!

Mom is SUPER DUPER happy - why you ask ?  Dad was checking out the specials from Sam's Club (he gets them emailed to him) and there they were - bags of Ambrosia apples. Now Mom just discovered these this years and TOTALLY loves them and was not at all happy when the store only got them in twice. There is so few things Mom can eat and when she finds something she can that doesn't bother her she tends to go a little crazy for it. Anyway Sam's Club has this neat thing where members can put an item on hold for pickup the next day and that is what he did - two big bags of yummy Ambrosia apples for the Mom and me - cause guess what - I LOVE them too. Dweeb (being the Dweeb he is) will eat one piece but not me - I would eat the whole apple if Mom would let me.  Now these were grown in the USA as opposed to the first ones we tried which came from Canada (They were actually cultivated and grown in Canada first) We are pleased to say they taste just as good. They are unfortunately a little expensive at $6.99 for a 4lb bag but considering some peeps pay $5.00 for a cup of coffee these seem like a bargain and are so much healthier for you.
Just a little nibble please
Grab, chomp, more please !

  2. They look great! And I agree to spend a little more wonga for apples is much better than to buy coffee or milkshakes with 87k calories. The best is that an apple has the same quantity of calories we spend while eating one... seems that means an apple has zero calories, dig in :o)

  5. Thats actually a bargain compared to prices here. I just paid $12 for a bag of honey crisps and Macouns were $10. Worth every penny though, especially since they came from my favorite local farm and I didn't have to pick them myself :)

    ENjoy!

  7. Let mum enjoy the season! They don't sound expensive at all. SHE usually pays $5 for coffee. Glad the shops have them. Usually when we find something we like, it gets taken off the stocklist...

  11. After you mentioned those ambrosias, Mom went looking for them and found them at our local grocery store. She thought they were good but she still loves the honey crisp! She said she will have to check out our Sam's to see if they have the ambrosias too. It is always good to have a variety.

    Happy weekend.

  14. Never heard of them but very happy that you got plenty to enjoy and share with the boys. We are hearing a lot about Honey Crisp apples that are suppose to be real expensive but we'll pass! Love Dolly
