Chewy.com Review - The FURminator Brush

Today thanks to Chewy.com - the best and most well known online pet food, treats and goodies store we are reviewing the new FURminator dual sided brush


Here are the basics
A well groomed pet is a happy, healthy pet. But, there are many reasons that frequent visits to your pet stylist aren't always possible. With FURminator's new line of professional quality grooming tools, you can get near professional results at home. The FURminator is currently on sale at Chewy.com for $9.94

Key Benefits of the FURminator Brush
  • Helps remove mats, tangles and loose hair
  • Features a pin brush on one side and bristle brush on the other
  • Pin brush works on long coated dogs
  • Nylon bristle brush is an excellent all round brush that can be used on almost any coat type
  • Removes debris from short coated dogs
  • Finishes the coat and creates a natural shine for long coats
  • Designed to follow the natural contours of pet's head and body

Our Review - The Positives and Negatives
  • The handle was very good - it gave excellent ergonomic grip and control
  • Sadly we didn't find this particular brush very useful for our type of thick double coated long fur.
  • It didn't go through our coats
  • It didn't remove much hair
  • The cover was a very poor design and wouldn't click or stay together
  • Mr Reilly didn't like the feel of this brush at all


Rating
We will have to give this only a 1 paw rating for the ergonomic designed handle - it just didn't work for us.

    Oh how bad that you couldn't give 4 paws for that brush. My momma knows that it is not easy to find a perfect brush for longhaired breeds like her....

    Interesting. I thought about checking this out as we typically use a fulminator. Maybe this would work on our shorter coats...just sayin'...

    Denny was such a good boy! My dogs are not very good about being brushed.

    Its so hard to find the perfect brush for sheltie hair. I'm still looking....thanks for ruling this one out for us.

    Ha! Our mom didn't care for the cover, either. And even though we don't have long coats, ours is so thick that this brush isn't ideal for Siberians OR Shelties! Great job with your review!

    We are sorry that this didn't work out fur you.... You are RIGHT that it is Pawfect fur guys like US... Our mom is CRAZY HAPPY with the HANDLE too... SO easy to use and hold and stuffs... We are giving OURS a good work out before WE decide about it.

    Bummer that it didn't work for you, guys. Our mom uses both side of it on us now that our furs are shorter and it does a great job. BTW, our mom says the brush cover was tricky for her too but she got it in place.

    I put my paw down and refused to review a grooming tool since I don't like being groomed but I guess you guys had to give it a try. Bummer the brush didn't work out for you.

    Ooooooooo we're so excited that it doesn't work on everyone! We've seen a few pups who like it, so we were worried SHE might find one for us! We may have dodged that bullet!

    Great review; so sorry it didn't work on your fur. We received this item as well and like you, we had an issue with getting the cover together-just didn't work. We also liked that Sydney sent us another treat. Mr. Chewy is the best.
