Every year for the past four years this lady goose has made her nest on the roof of this lookout but maybe she isn't such a silly Goose as look how well she blends in with the tree branches that has collected on it. Can you see her hiding in there?
That's a smart girl - hidden and above the waterline in case it storms. Mom had a goose that built a nest in her front flowerbed. It's mate used to flap it's wings and honk at Mom if she tried to use that door which scared her a little. One day, mama goose left the nest just for a minute and Mom saw a hawk on the ground headed for the eggs She ran out yelling and shouting at the hawk and it flew off as Mom and Poppa Goose came rushing back in. They didn't honk at Mom, and after that day, never did again, letting her come and go through the front door. I think they knew she saved their eggs.
They lived there 3 years and then she sold the house. I love hearing that story. Abby Lab
We don't think she's so smart. How will the babies learn to swim? They will have to learn how to fly first and isn't it kinda hot up there? She's going to roast in the hot sun!
wow, she has found a wonderful place to have her egg babies! What a smart Goose. Please share more photos when the eggs hatch! Hugs and wags, Willow and her mom Gail
