Mom says there is one thing we wont miss about living in Arkansas and that is the GIANT Mosquitosaurus Rex'es - truly those things are so big they can drain a pint of blood in 1.3 seconds flat! We were surprised when we went through the woods today that they are already out in full force and they even had us shaking our heads as they buzzed around our ears.
Now we have heard Mosquito's can be pretty bad in Florida too but we are hoping their sting doesn't hurt like the ones here do - Mom has a really bad reaction to them and always had to use so much bug spray just to go outside.
I heard u can put dryer sheets, like tuck them sticking out of your pocket, and that is supposed to keep the bugs away. Butt mommy tried that in nj and didnt have luck. Maybe it has to be a certain brand?
ReplyDeleteYuck don't blame.you. Have a serene and easy Sunday
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I hope that flying little vampires of Florida stay away from your momma ... maybe they are vegetarians and eat grass? that would be great...

Ha - every insect loves to bite my Ma too! We buy a lot of sprays for that reason - and Ma says she will never be able to live in the tropics for that reason!

There's an Avon product called Skin So Soft that mosquitos HATE. Some people don't like the smell, but neither do mosquitos!!
ReplyDeleteYou should come here. It is so dry that they aren't much of a problem. Although they love to bite mom she rarely ever gets a bite. We can sit outside and they aren't a problem. BUTT if you get closer to the lake they are around.

OMD! We hate mosquitos with a passion. They attack Mom too and she looks like she has the measles or something. My dad doesn't get bit and Mom will have 20 bites! They also like to light on my nose. Grrrr.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, Like your mom, I've always had terrible huge reactions to mosquito bites. I hate using spray as well, but I don't want to be covered in welts. You are lucky in that you both have thick hair so they can't get a good grip on you. I hope your move is smoothe and easy!!!

Those are some really big mosquitoes! We wouldn't miss them either!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

That is a huge mosquitos. Not that we love mosquitos, but we prefer them to blackflies any day!
ReplyDeleteSHE noticed those little mozzie-proof outdoor rooms people had on their houses in Florida, so they are bad there. We hope they aren't as big as that one in the photo. SHE said the largest SHE's ever seen were in Alaska....sheesh!
ReplyDeleteMozzie's bite HER but SHE doesn't come up in welts.
Reilly, Reilly, Reilly the bugs are way worse in Florida that's why mom won't go there! And now they have great big snakes eating cats so we are definitely not! Have fun! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple here today too. Yuk.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everything is greening up there! Sopretty!
Oh, we aren't fans of those nasty 'squitoes, either! They seem to REALLY love our mom, but the feeling is not mutual!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
For us the bugs are worse in FL. Mom gets eaten alive, whereas in MN she rarely gets a bite. Hope it pans out for you.
ReplyDeleteI think dey has em in Florida too. Finley's daddy and my Allison get bit real bad by em - my momma and Finley's momma get pretty much ignored.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the scedos in FL will not bite your mom.
ReplyDeleteTell her to watch out for Fire Ants they are worster than the scedos.

OMD!! That is most definitely a grrrrreat plus for you guys! Those darn mozzies drive us CRAZY in summer time too. Mom is also prone to allergic reactions and she itches like crazy and the spot where she got bitten turns rock hard. Is Florida mozzie free?
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
My peep HATES mozzies! Icky!
ReplyDeleteOh yuck, those are some nasty mosquitos! Glad you will be getting away from them to sunny Florida.
