5 Days of Photo Challenge - Day 2

This is day 2 of our photo challenge and today comes from our own back yard where miniature dinosaurs seem to be everywhere. Mom says they are called Anole Lizards - but we just call them pests - these little critters are constantly running up and down our fence, hanging off the fly screen in the sun room and chasing  each other every chance they get. Most of the ones we have seen to date are the brown but on two occasions Mom has spotted green ones. The males have these funny little orange beards and try to out do each other - "mine is bigger - no mine is bigger dude - no mine is bigger - it is a typical guy thing :)" One average they tend to be about 3-4 long but this morning we saw a teeny tiny baby one that was only about an inch and half. Now before you all start panicking - NO we don't chase them and NO we don't try eating them - YUK - we just look them with total disinterest and let them do their own thing :)

  9. We'd try to chase them. But we don't have any luck with the little skinks, so we think they'd be safe. So interesting seeing the new wildlife around you.

  10. Well, you are very good doggies not to chase them. Ciara does a nose dive into the grass along our walks when she knows there is a tiny lizard in there. Never caught one, but she does try. Those orange beards are sort of weird, aren't they?

  13. Mommy says we're bad because we chase them. Well, I don't because I'm mostly blind now, but brudder Max (DaUdderWeenie) chases them. So do my sisfurs! They also chase the teenie tiny green frogs that hang on the screen.

  21. Guess what? My mom screamed like a banshee as she had on of that guys on the ceiling of her howl-tel-room once... the howl-tel-staff made 87 crosses as my drama-mom left their crib after a week, that's for sure :o)

  23. Why are some humans afraid of, or disgusted by little lizards? We think they're amazing and adorable! Thank you for showing them! Ghostwriter loves to look for these little guys whenever she goes to Florida.
